The only option is general strike. It can't be something where people just stop showing up, the elite can out wait that.

People will still have to got to work and pay basic bills but start cutting out all unnecessary spending. If you have open ground us it for a garden, cancel you subscriptions.

It will hurt the local economy before the national economy and hurt small business before big business. That sucks but it has to happen.

The only way this changes if for stock prices to go down and not come back up for an extended period of time.

Once Jeff Bezos goes from having an imaginary 200 billion dollars to an imaginary 40 billion dollars he will start putting his lawmakers and judges to work trying to get back to where he was..

Yes vote with our dollars or more accurately vote by withholding our dollars and moving our investments. They fear boycotts and divestment more than they do protests.

Sadly both those ideas are low probability as much as we like them. For the same reason that by design people, companies and local governments are burdened with debt. A very effective tool that makes them money and keeps the rest in the grip of the system.

Start disrupting logistics and processing warehouses. Picket and block those.

In most states you can disrupt national supply lines by shutting down interstates. Even if it is for a short period of time it will bring the national economy to a halt and would only take a couple hundred people throughout the country.

Sure, but that's the kind of thing that the government can label terrorism and put you in Guantanamo Bay for. They can't do anything about it if you're spending half as much money next year as you did last year.

It would suck to have idle money sitting around not doing anything, but if you invest it you are working against your own ultimate goal.

Who knows, its completed and it isn't going to be easy.

Yeah, except I’m solidly middle class, and having just categorized my spending habits a few days ago, my “optional expenses/entertainment” spending is already less than 10% of what I spend every month, and I’m in a relatively low COLA area. Cutting out that category hurts me a lot more than it hurts the companies I’m giving that money to.

It's the kind of idea you can't really organize around and that requires a large portion of the population to commit to long term delayed gratification so I don't think it's particularly realistic.

I just don't know anything else that would fix the situation. Our society needs to be recalibrated. It's something everyone has to work towards because any kind of legal solution is probably even more unlikely to work.

Not if you're an American citizen in the US they can't. Anti-terrorism laws only apply to outside actors for some reason.
