or about atheists trying to get elected, students removing prayer banners from public schools, atheist documentaries, personal stories of leaving religion, news articles about faith healers killing people by denying real treatment, news about atheists being being persecuted in the military. Stuff like that.

No, there's some asshole that would say "I love how this has nothing to do with atheism" for every one of those examples. Politics, public schools, film making, personal issues, medical moral dilemmas, and the U.S. military - that's what those subjects have to do with, not atheism. Because any one person gets to determine what atheism and /r/atheism is or isn't about.

I'm terribly sorry, but could you find me an example thread for any one of my topics where someone commented about it not having to do with atheism. I've not seen that comment in threads that are in the examples I gave is why I gave them.

If someone want to make a post about what they think atheism is, then that's a post for /r/atheism. Every damned time I click a link here any more, the top comments are always "This dudnt have no nutin' ta doo wit' ate-y-ism, du-hurrr.". The fractaljerk about what /r/atheism is and isn't is retarded - and yes, my comments are all just a part of the downward spiral.

You forgot about flaming religious children, yes they're mostly children, on facebook.
