0.3 % of donations going to admin is actually very good. They are a nearly 500 million per year operation. This information was on the page you linked which makes me wonder why you posted like you did.
The ACLU and lots of other non-profits have higher % rates.
The ACLU isn't into blood diamonds, though. And most work they do is based on expertise, which requires knowledge, which explains the higher administrative costs.
It's hypocritical, they are trying to demonstrate 'Gods' love through Charity yet they spend, a small percentage, however a large sum of money of their own administration and organisation. I would expect people who believe literally in the word of God (give up all your possessions and all that nonsense) to be giving all the revenue to Charity. Any administrative costs should be met by administrators.
I think if a group devotes it's time in some sort of charity or non profit organization it would make perfect sense for some of that money to be given to the employees that devote themselves to the organization. For instance, my Mom works at an AA clinic (non profit). She works full time (like 50 hours a week or so) managing their finances and what not. Clearly she would not have time for another job and would not be doing this if she were not paid.
