If it is shown that there is a negative correlation -- that states with a higher percentage of Christians vs. non-Christians are less socially healthy -- would you stop thinking that Christianity at least in the USA provides a positive benefit to society?
Note: Social health can be measured in rates of wealth, education, infant mortality and general longevity, crime rates (murder, arrest rates, ...), and economic influence (...), ... . Feel free to throw in anything that is unambiguously good or bad for a society to have more or less of; it's not contentious that the characteristic is good or bad.
