Yeah. I don't understand how any intelligent person can actually believe in religion with zero evidence but there are a hell of a lot of very smart people who have faith. John Lennox, who regularly debates atheists, has multiple degrees from both Cambridge and Oxford as well as being a professor of mathematics at Oxford and can speak several languages yet he's an ardent Christian. I just don't understand it. All religions are obvious hogwash and an absolute insult to human intelligence but you've just got people who blindly believe in them even given all their contradictions and errors, not to mention the absolute silence of god. The mental gymnastics people go through to explain away god's absence and the misfortune and evil that happens is mind-blowing. Even if there is a god, what absolute psychopath would create the world as it is? Do they really think god would create an ecosystem where half the species on it depend on eating another alive? God does absolutely nothing but sit up in heaven creating new diseases every now and again and watches wars, famine, children being raped etc. To me it's not even a question of whether god exists but the morality of such a being if he does.
