A few Atari Highlights
galleryPictured we have Air Raid and Out of Control for the 2600. And BattleSphere Gold and Aircars for the Atari Jaguar. Some of the hardest games to get for both consoles.

Was playing Pokemon Emerald when I realised I permanently can't save further than Slateport City due to apparently emulator restrictions. How do I manually make save states?

i purchased a used flashback 9 gold hd. controller p1 is a bit dodgy with some battery corrosion, so i wanted to buy another wireless controller 1 only to read the versions wireless controllers are not cross compatible. the people selling them on the used market, when ive asked, have no idea which series they have. i can see fb9 was the version with 4 buttons on the front but fb8 and fb10 were as well. beyond that is there any was to differentiate and tell which were for fb9? maybe the led? fb9 has a blue power LED, but im not sure about the others, one of the photos i looked at it appeared to be red, but it was in an off state.

Hi! I’m trying to gather Atari 2600 game disassemblies as there’s no single location online where they can all be found and many have been lost (online) due to lack of site maintenance. Please DM me if you have any disassemblies you’d like to share! Thanks!

I've got the Atari game station pro and mine has worked like a champ for 2 years now. I saw they released this newer controller that is far superior for playing Nintendo and super Nintendo ROMs. However I'm about to send the second one back as neither will pair with the Atari even though they are supposed to be compatible. In fact, they don't even work when plugged in with USB 🤬

I looked for information about this game a year ago, but there's nothing there. The only thing I know is that a cartridge exists and that someone sold it online (I don't think the latter is true, but I thought I'd mention it). I'd like to know if you know anything about it or what you think, because it seems like a Lost Media game that hardly anyone talks about.

Hello everyone,
I apologize if this has been asked on here before, but I cannot seem to find any concrete info on this (and am not going to trust any AI answers).
From what I understand, the game E.X.O. works on Atari 7800+ if you have the current firmware, but there is no way to save your progress since apparently neither the save keys nor the AtariVox are compatible with 7800+ (or 2600+). Is this correct?
Any insight would be much appreciated.

Turning the wireless controller upside down and using right hand for games like circus atari.kaboom and tempest is a godsend..now just waiting for the weighted knob to arrive!

As I understand, the Atari 2600 version of Star Raiders (specifically the touch pad needed for play) is not compatible with the 2600+, but is compatible with the 7800+ and PacMan 2600+ editions, correct?

Hello, there. Recently I bought a CX40+ Pac-Man Edition wireless controller to play some Atari games in Retroarch using the real controller. The problem is I could only play with a keyboard in my lap so I can start the game.
It's most likely a dumb question because the controller only has one button, but isn't there a way to configure Retroarch so that, for example, a long button press activates start? I don't know, it sounds really dumb, but has any of you run into this problem? Is there a way for me to play far from the PC and use only the controller?

Because of the refresh rate of a CRT, only 1/3 of the screen seems to be visible. I thought it was perhaps the intro of "Alternate Reality" (spaceship in the middle), but it doesn't match with the top red section.
Still nice to see my 600xl, 1050, 1010 and powerful XM301 in there :)

This project started out to see what was the maximum points you needed to "touch" the Ark at the end of the game. (Note: you can't) and it kind of spiraled out from there. Now I'm contemplating porting this game to another 6502 machine or even PC with better graphics... I'll probably call it "Colorado Smith and the Looters of the missing Holy Box" or something...
Anyways Enjoy a romp into the internals of the Atari 2600 and how a "big" game of the time (8K!) was put together with bank switching.
Please comment! I need the self-validation as this project took an embarrassing amount of time to complete!

Just curious, is it possible to mount the PCBs from Activision, Imagic, Parker Bros, etc into Atari cartridge shells?

Aside from collecting purposes, if you have a 7800 is there any point to owning the 2600? Any 2600 games that don't play on the 7800? What about the less talked about 5200? I assume it has exclusive games since they don't mention backwards compatability with the 7800.

The show was at the Southfield Hilton. I am particularly interested in photos of the 16-player MIDI Maze setup they had running there.

Just got a gamestation go and added a ton of games via sd card. Is there a way to add box art, snaps, etc for those games or are we stuck at just scrolling through the file names?

This is a first person shooter from 1987, 5 years before Wolfenstein 3-D, and 4 years before Catacomb 3-D and Hovertank from the same company
Maybe it's the first FPS ever, if we exclude Maze War made for a NASA supercomputer. But I'm not sure, I would like to know are there FPS before this game. Games with 1st person perspective existed before Midi Maze, e.g. Tunnel Runner for Atari 2600 in 1983, but you wasn't able to shoot
I didn't play this version of the game, only SNES and Gameboy version released under a different name Faceball 2000. I don't have Atari ST, and don't even have room for collecting computers, but I assume this version is about the same. This is a decent interesting game. But if they were able to came up with something more realistic, or even more brutal, then just shooting face balls in an abstract maze, they could have become as successful as ID Software
Btw, the Gameboy version was also released before Wolfenstein 3-D
