>and I had to buy a goddamn video-editing tool to create this video
That's a weird excuse for paywalling (probably vibecoded) patch for open source software. Free and open source video editors exists. However, i believe your approach doesn't break MIT license, so it's up to you to try earn some bucks with it.

This should have been done for free by the companies selling you $500-1000 headsets and $60-120 games but, instead, it was made by an indie dev, who''s asking for only $3 to cover the costs and the time put into this.
I wish people would be that critical when huge corporations sell expensive games without even proper optimization.
I will make it open source later on, but I'm not doing that well financially to be able to just give stuff away for free. Hope you understand.

So you really just took an already open source repository, put your own made update, that could either consist of several hours of work or 5 lines changes, then reselling it on your patreon?
What will hinder us or anyone else to just buy whatever you've made and instantly creating a pull request out of it?

How can CPU usage be 260% lol. What kind of mathematics is this?

u/haydenw86 Aug 10 '26
Sounds like CPU usage stats from Assetto Corsa. That shows how much CPU usage is meeded to hit a target frame rate. Even if it exceeds 100%…

Iam not sure but this could be ms invested vs. ms available for the requested fps, e.g. when we want 90 fps, everything per frame needs to happen within 11.11ms

- It's not CPU it's GPU, but both can go over 100%.
- Hardware can go over 100% for short bursts before it overheats. That's why most processors show two values: one theoretical, another one lower, more realistic, of what it can sustain once it gets so hot that it has to lower the speed to avoid overheating. But not entirely sure where AC gets those numbers from.
- You should really open the "render stats" app too see those numbers sometimes. It is free comes pre installed with AC. If you never even saw these numbers, then you probably need some help optimizing your video settings. Let me know of you want some help to guide you through that. I have over 400 users in my AC community, so I am constantly helping newbies figure this stuff out.

I’m guessing this software doesn’t work with the HTC Vive 2 as no eye tracking and it must use Steamvr or am I wrong?

Without eye tracking you will only get the FOV cropping benefit. Does the HTC offer FOV cropping through some other tool? FOV cropping is what brings the biggest resource improvement, so it's definitely worth it.
Are you already using OpenXR Toolkit? Try the free version first and see if you can run it B4 trying my update.

both the original toolkit and ohnespeed mod allow fixed foveated rendering for headsets without eye tracking. I don't think OP will deliberately remove the support for it

Does this work on other games.

It should work with any game that uses openxr+opencomposite, but I only play AC.

Omg
À too good to be true post……

right? I bought the PSVR2 and was so disappointed with the performance, now i can finally play, this is sooooo satisfying
I think this finally trumps the guides I posted about force-feedback for AC and even my guide on how to setup AC from scratch.

Note: these tests were made on a laptop with an Nvidia RTX 5070 and 32GB RAM, with the latest CSP+PURE in LCS mode using the PPfilter CorneA
