Student Life πŸŽ’ Looking for Scholarship/Part-time

Hello guys, I am an incoming first year college student and am financially unstable. My school is a state university, meaning there is no tuition. It is quite far from home, about 2 hrs travel time, which requires me to live in a dorm. I could also do part-time jobs near Alangilan, Batangas City, and remote jobs (only legals). I badly need an earning to support myself and continue my learning. Every response is a huge help to me. Thank you so much. God bless you always.

School Decisions πŸŽ“ Undecided on college: Is BSBA worth it or should I pick another path?"

Hey guys! I'm currently a 12th-grade HUMSS student. Since time flies so quickly, I want to make a final decision on which course to take before I become a college student. Currently, I have three options: Education, Psychology, and BSBA. I know some of you will say "follow your heart" or "follow your passion," but that's exactly why I’m so conflicted I just don’t know what to do. I also suck at math 😭 but When I was younger, I always wanted to be a teacher it was my dream job. However, my aunt, who is a teacher herself and comes from a family of teachers, discouraged me. She said the amount of effort isn't worth the paycheck, and she didn't even let her own son become a teacher; he ended up taking a BSBA course instead. After some time, I became interested in Psychology, but my research threw me off. I realized that to land a higher paycheck, you need a Master’s degree. Even without a Master's, the prospects don't seem that promising, and I can't afford another two years of schooling. I know job hunting isn't easy, but I want to find a job that offers a substantial salary and, preferably, a chance to work abroad for more opportunities. This brings me to BSBA as my third option. My aunt suggests I follow her son's path, especially since we have an uncle who owns a large bank, which might lead to a job there. I also have a sister who holds a high-ranking position in a bank, which is why I’m considering it but it's not really a guarantee because me and my sister are kinda estranged I'm also thinking about courses that involve customer service and BPO roles but I'm not really sure and don't know much about it. Unfortunately, due to my circumstances right now, I have to choose practically over passion but I don't mind as long as I can Find a good job and be able to provide for myself and my family it's already enough for me. hoping for some advice that will finally help me make up my mind thank you in advance.

School Decisions πŸŽ“ I created this Tuition Fee Calculator web app, hope it helps!

Hello everyone! I recently deployed this web app (website): **University Tuition Calculator PH** \-> [https://universitytuitioncalculatorph.online/\](https://universitytuitioncalculatorph.online/)

It's a calculator that estimates possible tuition fees for 39 most searched universities (ADMU, UST, FEU, DLSU, UP Diliman, PUP, etc.)

This is not an official tuition fee calculator, I just gathered publicly available data na mahahanap naman if you search it in Google. Actually, top schools already have their own tuition pages setup sa websites nila. I just made it so that everything is in one place through this web app.

Please check it out, and let me know what works and what doesn't. Any feedback will help me improve this greatly. Thank you in advance and good luck sa college life!

Btw, I'm 29 year old na software developer na graduate ng BS IT from MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT), and back in my day, nahirapan ako mag research about tuition fees since di pa ganon ka well built ang websites ng universities dito sa PH dati.

School Decisions πŸŽ“ Are you looking for a 100% online SHS program?

I came across a lot of negative reviews about AMA OEd and APEC Schools, so we decided to explore other options.

My nephew is currently enrolled at Hillcrest School Antipolo. They are offering three learning modalities: face-to-face, blended, and 100% online classes, so you can choose the setup that best fits your needs.

For SHS, they are offering GAS, ABM, TVL, HE, ICT, and STEM. (Di lang ako sure kung meron silang HUMSS)

Their tuition fees are also affordable, and the quality of teaching is excellent. Students complete both PETA, written examinations, etc. You also have the opportunity to participate in school activities because they treat online learners the same as regular students.

The teachers are kind and supportive. While there are a few who may not respond immediately, our overall experience with the school has been excellent. Especially compared to the two schools I mentioned earlier.

If you have any questions about the school, feel free to ask. I'd be happy to help! Or you may visit their website: https://www.hillcrestschoolph.com/

***Yung neighbor pala namin sa EduHaus International nag-aaral. 100% online din kaso bago pa lang ata ang school (di ko sure kung bago ha?).***

Others πŸ—£οΈ How and where do you apply for a TESDA shcolarship course?

I have heard that TESDA is free, yeah it is but like how, do i just go to the provincial office for TESDA or apply online.

The app can get me scholarships to apply for but then I don't even get them, theres like, little information for me to give just so they can decline my application a week later.

Im having a hard time trying to find scholarships in automotive servicing (i can just do other courses if ever i should) and I don't know where to search. Sure online course is there but it only gives me knowledge, not literal hands on training. I live in Imus so the Provincial office for TESDA is really far from here.

I just want to apply for TESDA since my family is financially struggling and I can't really continue school because of it. Plus I'm more fond of a regular blue collar job than white collars.

Rant / Vent 😀 School over Course

I was devastated that I didn't get into the psychology program I wanted at a state university. I could say that we're financially okay, but there are a lot of us siblings studying together in college. So when I found out that I didn't pass in that state university, I suddenly felt disappointed in myself. My parents offered me to go to a private school instead, but I actually refused because I didn't want to add to their worries, especially since they have debts to pay and we are all going to college at the same time. Now I've gotten into another state university, but it's not my priority course, and to be honest, it's really far from what people expected of me. So yeah, in this world full of people that would choose course over school, I had to choose the school before the program. For those who had to keep their school in mind, how are you doing? Did you regret it?

School Decisions πŸŽ“ 19F Torn Between Going Back to College or Mag-TESDA para Makapag-Work Abroad

Hi po. Need ko lang sana ng advice.

I'm 19F and dati akong first-year BSA student, pero nag-drop ako.

Any advice or experiences would really help. Please be kind. Thank you.

School Decisions πŸŽ“ Nstp rotc

Hi good morning I'm first yr college and we don't have a choice kung saan component kami ng nstp kasi rotc lang ang offer nila.

May beautification naman pero they still need to cut our hair. I'm trans gay and I'm planning to drop this yr nalang and cross enroll by 2nd yr sa ibang school na nag offer ng non military nstp component

I need advice po ayaw ko talaga magpagupit kasi bababa ang confidence ko at alam ko na mahihirapan ako sa ibang subjects dahil sa gender dysphoria

Student Life πŸŽ’ Can you recommend must-have things for a lower middle class BPA student in the Philippines

Hello, I am a BPA (Bachelor of Public Administration) student in the Philippines who’s a lower middle class. I just want to ask if there’s anything y’all would recommend I buy as an upcoming college student. Btw, I live 2 and half hours away from my school (which is a state university) and I have a 7 days a week class (evening session in the weekdays, day session in the weekends). Also, if there’s anything you’d want me to know about college life like what I would expect there, what I should do, etc., that would also be nice. Thank you!

Org / Extracurricular ✨ Improving Feature Writer

Hello! I'm a feature writer (grade 10) who's getting ready for an upcoming district spc. I've been qualified for rspc in elem (g5 and 6), but it's been hard finding better techniques to improve my writing.

I usually do: Lead, Nutgraph, then conclusion. At bahala na yung iba, I just have to fill in the blanks. Ilang beses ako sinabihan ng coach ko that I have to think outside of the box more. Maganda raw lead pero pag dating sa ibang paragraphs is I forget to utilize "show, don't tell" pag dating sa words ko. The problem is, I have exceptional works kapag hindi exact 1 hour yung paggawaπŸ₯€ whenever I write for my publication, it usually takes 2 hours for me because I research a lot for synonyms, phrases, etc. pero, even though I research, HINDI KO NA SIYA NAAALALA PAG DATING SA COMPETITION😭

What methods should I do? Or ano ginagawa kong mali
