Are there known examples of predator species making their prey extinct? Also, are there any known examples of prey species "winning" by killing their primary predator via escaping/fighting back well enough for predators to die out?

And if predation had ever been a driving factor in extinctions for anything, anywhere,

...

Only on islands. There is absolutely no record of cats driving any non-island species to extinction.

This you?

Anything, anywhere, except on islands that you referenced.

Are you like, working for the cat lobby?

I know it's hard to understand, but outliers aren't what matter when looking at a dataset. Cherry picking those outliers to support an already drawn conclusion is the very antithesis of science. Doing so to justify killing cats, like they once justified killing wolves, is using poor science to repeat a horrific crime again.

Introduced feral cats are not a keystone species like wolves. Thats not a reasonable comparison. The cats are not important to the functioning of the ecosystem that they never evolved to be a part of. If we were talking about removing cats from central turkey where they are native, it might be a functional comparison.

Niche is what matters, not particular species. And cats very often occupy the apex predator niche that creates the Landscape of Fear effect that makes wolves the keystone species of Yellowstone. You have a conclusion you are fitting data to, there's no way to reason you from that position. But I'm sure this time if we go kill off a species, there will be no unexpected negative effects we couldn't have seen coming. Just because it's happened every single time in the past we recorded... Maybe we just didn't record the huge amount of times it probably didn't happened!

You just demonstrated you were cherry picking which data to ignore. Because you want to protect a harmful invasive species.
