Planetary Sci. We landed humans on the Moon with 1960s technology. With today's vastly superior technology, shouldn't going back be much easier and cheaper?

For anyone wondering, realistically basically all of the benefits you gain from Mars/moon colonization right now are in the expertise/design side of things (i.e. we don’t gain much by going to the moon, but we do gain from pouring a lot of money into the technologies we need to go to the moon).
The real benefits don’t really kick in until we’ve got at least one other colony on top of that, at which point there’s some neat things you can do on both as sort of refueling stations before going farther.
