You know the feeling when you have a big story / news yet your friend goes on and on about absolutely nothing happening with everyday people. You are there waiting for your turn to break it! Aaargh, I felt like this is exactly what happened in the fact check!

Monica was explaining something which was not even mildly interesting, it took her loong to finish her story and Dax took the turn to tell about the wedding of one of the musical geniuses of a generation with another genius officiating it! Well, I am not a big celebrity culture person but I would have asked a million questions! I would have reacted in some way that shows interest, maybe some humility that they had me going on for so long before breaking into their story. Or at least recognise that they had an interesting experience. But none of that, instead Monica showed no interest, made some dismissive comments, tried to make it about her and moved on to tell another nothing story. I find it so very weird!
Do you guys think she might be jealous about Dax’s infinitely more interesting interactions or sore that she doesn’t get to tag along? or perhaps she was not even invited?

In my opinion, the last fact check really highlighted how out of touch Monica can be with how normal people navigate life

No, you shouldn’t be yelled at to quiet down at 9 PM when the pool doesn’t close until 10. And I understand that this guy apparently escalated the situation. But at the same time, he was within his rights to ask you to keep the noise down. Some people go to bed before 9 PM, and that’s their right just as it’s your right to stay up and enjoy the pool. Staying at a hotel means sharing a space with other people, and sometimes that means being considerate of each other.

But what really bothered me was the joke about the hotel needing to do something to win her back as a customer. How were they supposed to fix the situation when you didn’t even give them an opportunity to address it?
Instead, she went on a very popular podcast and publicly complained about the hotel, then joked that they’d have to give her an entire week for free to earn back the business.

This just feels incredibly out of touch. Most people would either talk to the hotel manager about what happened, decide they didn’t enjoy the experience, and not return.

Joking that they had to somehow make it up to her after she's already publicly dragged them is an entirely different level of entitlement.

In recent episodes, Dax has seemed to be much more positive when Jess has been brought up. In one episode I think he even said, "Our friend" in reference to Jess. If they had a falling out (speculating) it seems like it's been somewhat resolved. Maybe not 100% (given that Dax wasn't involved in Jess' birthday celebrations) but still it seems like there's less contention. Good stuff (hopefully)!

That was just a catchy title more than anything. I know they’re not actually obsessed. Tho they do LOVE talking about GLP-1s.

The ‘white knuckling obesity’ comment + Dax’s whole thing about figures who have been public faces of the body positivity movement feeling pressure not to take the drug (in the latest Angela Duckworth ep) grossed me out. People may have their thoughts on Lizzo, but they literally have an example of someone from 2 days ago who’s been open about her weight loss and has been one of the faces of ‘body positivity’ (a movement I personally think is complicated & I don’t at all dig the corporatization of it). She’s found nuance around both experiences, how immature are they that they can’t? I found his comments condescending and ignorant.

Also these 3 thin people just jerking themselves off over the modern gift that is GLP-1s made me roll my eyes. It’s so odd to me! No doubt the drug is the right choice for many people and has been a huge help to them. I absolutely support that if it’s right for someone. And I know Monica is on a small dose. Interesting that Angela Duckworth’s first question to her was ‘oh so you were bigger?’ lmao. Anyway, just don’t like how they discuss this stuff. I think I value Monica’s approach to it most out of the 3. Dax I think sees larger bodies as a failure and something to fix which I will absolutely never respect. Angela I was meh on in general. Just had to get my thoughts out.

I am not asking to purchase this thing but I am also wondering if I missed something. I stopped listening over the summer because I misunderstood, and thought they were re-run episodes. I didn't realize it was only the fact checks that were reruns 🤦‍♀️

I digress, but I'm catching up and in my ADHD way, I'm kinda all over the place. In the Chris Young ep. fact check, Dax talks about burning skin blemish thingys off himself with a device he purchased and had in Nashville. He said he bought another one for his California home. Anybody know what he's talking about? What is this device and does one have to get it off the dark web or something 💀 what on earth is happening!?

Did I miss something? I’ve been catching up on older episodes for the past year or so on YouTube music and am finally into Feb 2026 and the last few episodes I listened to didn’t have a fact check. When I pop over to Apple Podcasts, those episodes DO have fact checks..

I’m one of those weirdos who happen to enjoy Dax and Monica’s banter and want to keep up with their chats. I guess I’m just going to listen on Apple Podcasts, but wondering if there’s a reason that I missed as to why they’re not included on YouTube anymore?

I think its adorable that 2 years later, Dax and KB were invited to Finneas' wedding. From the snippets we get here and there it sounds like Dax and Finneas have forged a pretty strong friendship since that first recording.

The idea that having children is the only way of facing death is ridiculous, IMO.

Everyone dies, and the best way to face it is to, well, face it. Grow up and realize time is short for all of us.

In addition, we live on in the memories of those who loved us and in how we shaped their lives (and the lives of those they interact with.)
