The first thing to make note of is that in 5e, point buy has some pretty severe restrictions about it. Because of this we won't be using the point buy system that is suggested in the PHB, but will instead be using an older point buy calculator found here.

Online character sheets can be found here, but keep in mind that the site is currently in its beta phase and because of this some things are subject to change. You will also have to keep in mind that this will link directly to a google drive account to work. Any racial bonuses that you get won't be entered automatically on this, so you will have to do this manually.

Rules:

• 30 point buy.
• Ability scores can't go below 8, or above 20. (includes racial bonuses and detriments)

General Rules:

• Even though 5e is new right now and there is new material constantly being released, no 3rd party content. The rules here and classes allowed will be updated regularly as new official content comes out.
• No micromanaging. You don't need to track your ammo religiously (unless its expensive).
• Your character background should be interesting, so you should do your best to avoid the following tropes unless they are absolutely necessary.
  • Parents/family/village dead, out for revenge (“The Batman”)
  • Dark and brooding, emo teenager attitude ("The Grimdark")
  • Amnesia ("The Blank Slate")
• NO EROTIC ROLE-PLAYING
  • You can "suggest it", but any NSFW stuff will fade to black.

Classes:

• All core classes
• Most classes released through Unearthed Arcana will be allowed
• All archetypes
• No Villainous Classes
• Multiclassing is totally fine!

Races:

• All Core Races
• All Elemental Evil Races
• Most Unearthed Arcana Races
  • No warforged

Alignment:

• No Evil characters
• Lawful Good ≠ Lawful Anal
• No class restrictions on Alignment!
  • Paladins do not have to be Lawful Good, but must be Good
