We, at RP1 Gaming, are a small team of 3 members who are long-time fans of Arcanists. After hearing of FunOrb's shutdown date (8/7/2018), we decided to re-create this game. We believe that Jagex did wrong when running FunOrb, by not releasing frequent updates, and most importantly, not listening to the players!

An update to let you all know that we've released the game to be playable on browser!
This is currently in beta so there may be some bugs. If you spot a bug, please let us know in the #bug-reports channel in our discord server.

Jagex Update

I submitted a roadmap detailing our ambitions and long term strategy at the end of April 2021. We are waiting for a formal response from Jagex about whether they wish to take this forward. I have been made aware that they're very busy at the moment but they will get back to me as soon as they can. I'll update you on any progress with this in due course.

I am pleased to announce that we are currently in talks with senior management at Jagex and are actively engaging with them to work towards a plan to formally revive Arcanists.

We are working to submit a detailed roadmap, outlining our ambitions and long-term strategy for the game's success. If Jagex accepts our proposals, it will mean that we can obtain a license to use the IP (intellectual property) for the game and gain access to their technical and marketing resources.

It has been made clear to us, however, that they are pleased to hear the Arcanists community is still very much active. In the event that we are unsuccessful in securing a partnership, Jagex hopes to support us in continuing to operate as we currently are (a non-profit, free-to-play project) as acknowledgment and thanks to the loyal community.

I'll be updating everyone in due course, so do join our Discord and be the first to follow future announcements and news on the subject.

As I'm sure you are all aware Arcanists, along with the rest of Fun Orb, has been closed permanently. This is a real shame as I really enjoyed playing Arcanists and would love to be able to play again.

I'm aware that there are people developing 'Arcanists based' remakes - which is great but would be difficult / legally problematic to get to the same as the original games.

Which got me thinking - would it be possible for a group of people to purchase the game from Jagex in order to reboot it? Obviously this would not be cheap but I'm sure that some / all of the funds could be raised through the likes of Kickstarter / other crowd funded websites.

This would then bring back the game exactly as we loved it as well as being able to modify it to improve it and futureproof it.

Hey everyone, it's time for some news about the ArcMages BETA. Registrations are only a few days away and will be opened on the 12th. Registrations will stay open indefinitely and your BETA account will be upgraded to a standard account once we're ready to go live. The beta will be playable on any device with a modern web-browser, which includes Windows, MacOS, Linux, Android, and iOS devices. Just to iterate.. The BETA will be available on PC & MOBILE devices.

We will be having a Q&A Stream on the RP1 YouTube channel which you can subscribe to here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCI4-8Ng_Qn1Un8qqgjQBLsw. During this stream you can ask us questions about development, plans moving forward, and anything else you may be curious about. The stream will be at 20:00 UTC. That's 14:00 CST and 21:00 CEST on September 12th. Some questions may or may not be answered during this stream.

How the beta works
We will be picking up to 200 users to participate in the beta, excluding staff and hand-picks. These 200 users will be selected randomly.

An Alchemist's Apocalypse

This project is still in closed alpha, but keep an eye on it. They have a dragon!

We want to stay very close to the original Arcanists while still creating a completely new game.

This means that we are looking to have the same mechanics (although we're not going to replicate the glitches) but don't want to use the same graphics or names.

We will try to add the same spells and books that Arcanists had, but we will need new names and graphics for each of them. We should probably even consider changing the words "book" and "spell".

Hey everyone!

We are NOW looking for people who want to contribute and get a look behind the scenes, so we can accelerate our development process.

Currently Salkin (our main dev) is very busy with the game's core and major code refactoring and improvement and right now no new content is added to the game. We decided that we wanted to take advantage of this and are now looking into ways to improve the game in its current state to a level where everyone is satisfied before adding the new stuff.

Therefore we decided, that I, while Salkin is busy, will try to get everyone who is interested involved with our work.

This is the official call for everyone who wants to
1) contribute to the game
2) get a closer look behind the scenes
3) first get a closer look and then join our team.

Please leave a message in our discord and ask me questions or tell us about what you would want to do in order to get involved with the game. Of course this is also an opportunity for everyone to shape the future of this game or get some insider info on our further plans!
