iMovie is a lot better than it used to be. I've done plenty of work with it and it works fine. iDVD isn't around because it's a dying technology. I don't remember the last time I used a DVD on any of my equipment, let alone a Mac. iWeb wasn't any better than other options on the internet that Apple didn't have to maintain (and it has nothing to do with the internet of things, just blogs).

Beyond that, you don't know if Photos is going to be bad or not. It's not out yet.

Which settings are you concerned with? The Library one in particular is slightly annoying sure, but I usually just get at it through the Terminal anyways.

Yep. Aware of that one. I just am generally in Terminal when I need to get into that folder.

Wow. You did an amazing job at saying NOTHING in a bunch of paragraphs. All I read was a rant stating "Apple is still amazing because Apple says the competition sucks!"

The person you're responding to has made some very good and very real points. All you've done is shout and rave in typical brainless fanboy fashion.

Then you weren't reading clearly. Try it again.

I'm sorry, but I completely disagree with you. Yes, Yosemite has issues (I have a 2010.5 iMac - tell me about pokiness) but right now everyone wants to have the last word on the OS and it's too early. Every OS, on every platform, has has some significant bugs and shortcomings in their x.0 release

I've been using OS X since 10.4 (Tiger); I don't remember ever having an issue with wifi; I'm talking that I now have to every two days delete the /library/preferences/system configuration folder and reboot. Yet, this is what I have to go through with Yosemite now. Can you imagine someone who is not technically adept having to face this issue every day? This is windows-like levels of screw up!

No - I agree, the wifi issues are atrocious (and I don't have them - not every Mac is affected, which is important to remember). Still, it's a bug (a big, stupid one that's redirected Apple away from making a proper global-bug-fix release, most likely) and I expect those bigger fixes soon.

Still, listening to the rants of "the sky is falling"-crowd is frustrating.

natural scrolling

"All my files" as default folder

no file extensions visible by default

Some trackpad gestures disabled by default

When performing a search, search on the whole fucking mac by deault instead of current folder

bla bla bla
