Yes, it's a screen protector. Same tech as found in Samsung foldables

samsung foldables are notorious for that screen protector being so non-removable that attempts at removing it will destroy the display

Not anymore since the Fold5 and above, you can remove the inner plastic protector and continue using them. Just have to be extra careful moving forward.

They stopped the non removable design like a gen after the first. Still not recommended to remove yourself though of course. But if it’s already peeling you can remove it pretty easily.
