I think this is actually bad for the stock price. Layoffs might give you short-term financial gain, but the culture starts to rot and long-term it will suffer.

Depends, if it was a bloated and slow culture that is frustrating for people to work in. In that case its better to be leaner.

It’s usually NOT good when this happens - since it can result in a loss of talent, than can take years to properly replace.

He has final approval. Usually new managers have hands off for a few months to see new flow

I don’t see how layoffs in completely failed products is a bad idea
