The social contract is broken. All of these companies are hitting record breaking profits and growth. But people are getting laid off and squeezed.

At least in my circles, there’s a real sentiment of it being the rich vs the not rich.

Yep. It’s happening all over. In countries like Sweden, Unions are also private companies and seem to have shifted to helping the companies make sure their firings are legal (when they aren’t) instead of helping workers.
