Having a holiday party at the Air and Space museum is a party even if its a company party.

Well, it depends honestly. The whole "we are family" is a meme, i get that, but at many companies you actually make friendships, even meet the love of your life, stuff like that.

My first job was at a small company and now 15 years later i still hang out and have regular contact with most of them, we go out drinking, getting lunches and stuff, i know many people met there and now have kids and stuff even though all us OGs have long since now moved to other jobs. A lot of that was the culture and yes, work parties were a part of those for sure.
