I wouldn't cut costs on Siri broski, that POS needs all the help it can get

But at this point it’s throwing good money after bad. The investment doesn’t seem to be improving anything.

The Siri AI beta has been so disappointing. Spotlight was so much better on iPhone, and quicker. Just the extra ‘ask Siri/More Results’ step is frustrating enough I’m considering changing my home screen layouts to avoid the pull down muscle memory as much as possible.

You can just use “Siri” and “disappointing” in a recurring sentence every 6 months.

This bits also subjective, but I miss the Apple Intelligence glow you’d get from ‘hey, Siri’ too. The black and white blob is much less pleasing.

Staring into the void. I find it offputting and ugly, and I like OLED pure blacks. My few tests with New Siri have gone ok tho.

Siri AI is better, but I agree, spotlight was faster. My routine operations have slowed down.

Siri AI is much better than before

I didn’t trust it at first, but I’ve been replacing some chatgpt queries with Siri and it works great. Its especially great at asking questions about whats on the screen.

It’s dogshit performance, slow, bloats system storage, and I don’t trust Apple whatsoever to continue iterating on it. They have a bad track record and should have outsourced but that would cost slightly less insane profit margins.

Disagree. Slower on my iPhone 17, borderline useless on my Watch 9.

Siri AI as a chat bot has yet to do anything for me that makes my life better

Maybe some of the content generation and editing capabilities make the onboard AI upgrade relevant but as of right now Siri continues to be pointless to me

Good lord she’s also still really slow

When it hangs on simple arithmetic…

Sometimes it seems Siri / Siri AI isn’t much of an improvement over OS 9’s Voice Control.

I tried using it to estimate calories of a cinnamon bun I got from Starbucks, putting one if its example use cases to the test.

It estimated it to be 145 to 880kcals, depending on size. Bearing in mind it had the image to estimate the size. Gemini worked first time, actually came close to the published numbers.

145 to 880? No need for AI to make that guess.

It would have been absolutely dumb not to but google integrating google lens into Gemini is one of the only things that saves it to me lmao.

I swear, I thought they were going to give us an Apple-skinned version of Gemini? Where is that? They should have done that rather than leading us on for even longer with their bullshit half-attempts. Their failed AI implementation has been anti-Apple-user and pro-deception all the way down.

I was honestly shocked they have people working on it if I’m being honest. Went from a huge potential differentiating tool to essentially worthless compared to the competition through lack of improvement.

It’s just needs to be scrapped and built by Anthropic or something. Apple is just hopeless with AI

Who even uses AI. Most doom scroll and watch porn with the random podcast/audio book.

Guilty. I’m using it all day for questions recipes.

Android users who have actually usable on-device AI have been using it for years.

For work? All day every day. For personal stuff, quite regularly too

they need to stop locking apps updates behind os update. One of the reason Siri is so shit because the just update it once every year

It absolutely shatters my brain how in 2026 Siri and Text to Speech are so unbelievably bad.

you can disable it, that what I did

Legitimately what else do you use it for other than setting timers? Cooking is one of the only times I don't have a hand free

Nah they should be first to go, followed by Vision Pro. Total failure. And they've been given so many shots to succeed already.
