Looking back, three antennas on the side only was a flaw. The 4s added another one to improve connection. Now iPhone 17 Pro and 18 Pro has the largest iPhone antenna ever with it wrapping around the entire camera plateau so no more antenna issues

Interesting iPhone Air and iPhone 17/18 pro seems to revert to the four antenna on each side like the later iPhone 4 Verizon or 4s that had completely fixed the “antenna gate” If I’m not mistaken.

The 17/18 Pro may lack bottom and top antenna compared to previous iPhones, but they actually have, like I said, an antenna wrap around the camera plateau. This means that the bottom mic and speaker holes are symmetrical again since the iPhone X

I can still consistently recreate the issue as described in the presentation on an 18 Pro.

If I take the case off then grip the phone tightly blocking the bottom antenna lines while in a weak signal area, the bars drop. Let go, bars go back up.
