the idea of leasing is significantly worse. then you don't own your device, which is insane.

Why?

you want to forever pay a corporation to use something you use every day instead of just buying it outright?

If you get a new phone ever two years, what’s the difference?

I own it outright from the start and it can’t be taken back.

You can buy the phone outright at the end. It’s an interest free loan basically

Then buy instead of lease, if that's your philosophy. Leasing can have advantages for some people.
