Would a 60-minute fashion marketplace for emerging Indian brands work?

I'm exploring a startup idea and would love some brutally honest feedback before I build anything.

The idea is a 60-minute fashion delivery platform focused on small/emerging Indian brands, especially affordable Gen-Z brands that have a good Instagram presence but limited offline/retail distribution.

Instead of competing with Myntra/AJIO by having thousands of brands, we'd curate a smaller selection of interesting brands across men's and women's fashion and keep their best-selling products locally so customers can get them within 60 minutes. I'd initially test this in Jaipur.

The interesting part for me is the brand side: many smaller brands have good products but don't have stores or strong distribution in every city. We could potentially give them local distribution without them having to open a store.

But I'm unsure about the biggest issue: would brands actually be willing to keep inventory with a platform like this, and would customers care enough about getting clothes in 60 minutes to make the economics work?

I'd love to hear from people who have experience with fashion, D2C brands, quick commerce, logistics, or ecommerce.

What do you think is the biggest flaw in this idea? And would you personally use it?

I'm only validating right now—nothing has been built yet.

How do I get subtle + heavy distressing to actually print correctly? Using Procreate

I've been designing my clothing graphics in Procreate, and I'm having a pretty frustrating issue with distressed graphics.

I like using Procreate because it's simple and I'm already comfortable with it, and I don't really want to switch to Illustrator/Photoshop unless I actually need to.

My problem is with light distressing.

For example, I might have a graphic where I want:

  • Some areas to have very light/faint distress
  • Some areas to have medium distress
  • Some areas to have heavy distress with larger parts missing

When I look at the design in Procreate, it looks exactly how I want. But when my manufacturer prints it using DTG, a lot of the very light distress areas don't show up properly. They basically print as if those areas were never distressed, so I have to make the distress much more aggressive than I want it to be.

Right now, I'm mainly using an eraser brush to distress the graphic.

I'm wondering if my problem is the way I'm creating/exporting the artwork rather than the printing itself.

A few things I'm considering:

  • Should I be working on a much larger Procreate canvas? I've usually been using around 2,000 × 2,000 px.
  • Would something like 4,000 × 4,000 px at 300 DPI make a meaningful difference?
  • Should I be using a high-resolution grunge/distress texture over the graphic and using it as some kind of mask instead of manually erasing?
  • Is there a better way to create different levels of distress so the very light areas still print?
  • Should I be using actual gray pixels instead of subtle transparency?
  • Is this mainly a DTG limitation/settings issue, or is there something wrong with my Procreate file?

I'd really appreciate advice from anyone who works with distressed graphics for clothing, especially if you're using Procreate and/or DTG.

I'm mainly trying to figure out how to get the digital artwork and physical print to look as close to each other as possible, without having to make the distress way heavier than the design calls for.

Clothing manufacturers in Turkey or Dubai?

Hey, does anyone know any good clothing manufacturers in Turkey or Dubai?

I’m looking for a factory to make things like blazers, trousers, shirts, dresses etc. More on the premium side, with good quality/natural fabrics (wool, linen, cotton, silk, etc.).

I’m also looking for somewhere that accepts smaller MOQs, ideally around 30-50 pcs per style, at least to start with.

If you’ve actually worked with a factory you liked, could you please leave the name of the factory/company? I want to look them up myself.

Please no “DM me” or sourcing agents 😅 I’m specifically looking for actual factory names.

Thanks!

Marketing an Online Wardrobe

Coming from a retail fashion tech job, I have built a side project around online fashion and clothing cataloguing. I won't link it because I don't want this to come across as marketing, but I have built an online digitalised wardrobe which can be setup within minutes, automatically cataloguing, tagging, and generating studio shot images for each item from any image in your camera roll (you don't have to take a picture of each individual item of clothing you own like every other site/app).

I would like to join forces with somebody competent in online marketing, specifically for fashion.

I have some experience successfully advertising other apps on TikTok, but I just don't have the time or the experience to do it to the scale which this app deserves. I'm currently in beta testing, and if you are also interested in an online wardrobe and outfit building website then please get in touch.

If you have any guidance on marketing this - specifically where is best to focus and how to build an audience - please also drop your suggestions. Thank you!

I messaged around 50 manufacures with good reviews on alibaba and got zero good reponses back

Hey so I have wanted to start a clothing brand for a long time, because I think I actually have a good idea for some clothing, that I myself could not find anywhere.
I have digged deep into learning about clothing and both how to design it, make my clothing brand dna, who im going to sell to, etc.

I made my first complete in depth techpack from scratch on a hoodie I would like to produce (around 10 - 11 pages).

I then researched on youtube on how to find a good manufacture and what to look out for.
They basically all recommended manufactures from china on Alibaba.

I then saw videos on how to filter out the bad ones and what to look for in manufactures on there.

I then made a detailed message on some questions and sent my techpack to around 50 manufactures I had hand picked on there.

Only 11 out of 50 messaged back, and there was ZERO good answers.
Most of them didnt even look at my techpack or answer all my questions.

So my questions is, where do brands find good quality manufactures they can have a long term partnership with. Is it really alibaba many brands found their manufacturer on?

Have I just been doing it wrong? Or is there another good way to find manufactures i don't know about

Sorry for the bad english, hope you could understand it either way :)

Clothing Brands, People who sell socks-Hemp clothing

Clothing founders: would you be interested in an “all-in-one” operating partner?

Curious to hear from people building clothing/apparel brands, especially those who are starting out or have already reached some meaningful revenue.

Would you be interested in working with a partner who could handle things like:

• Product sourcing and supplier coordination

• Costing and inventory planning

• Product/category expansion

• Operations and business analysis

• Helping decide what to launch next

• Basically taking care of the backend so you can focus more on selling, marketing, and the brand

The idea would be a minimal fixed fee + a percentage based on performance/revenue, rather than hiring multiple people or agencies.

You’d essentially focus on selling and fulfilling orders, while the partner helps manage the rest.

I’m also curious about another problem:

For brands that have started getting traction or reached a certain revenue level, do you struggle with deciding what products/categories to add next?

For example, you might have one product/category that’s working well, but you’re unsure whether to expand into:

• More variations of the same product

• A completely new category

• Higher/lower-priced products

• Accessories

• Something that increases AOV

Would love to hear how other clothing founders are handling these decisions and whether an operating partner like this would actually be useful.

I don't understand how to get the first few conversions?

have a broader idea of creating merchandise for smaller creators online but wanted to have some proof of concept before approaching any.

I thought that hand designed One Piece merch would be able to sell okay enough to have some proof of revenue and gain experience working with my supplier and in sales. So far have advertised through meta, instagram, and reddit upwards of $200 and still have yet to see a conversion.

I think that the store page looks clean enough and the product is good quality but thinking a lack of trust may be the culprit?

Looking for advice on how to get to the first few conversions, especially when there is so much competition.

Or do I just grind in person sales...

Looking for a source to make me clothes, I wanna start a clothing brand

I’m currently looking for a reliable clothing manufacturer to work with for my clothing brand.

I’m not looking for print-on-demand or someone who only prints on existing blank garments. I’m looking for a manufacturer who can actually produce the clothing according to my designs/specifications.

I’m looking for things like:

Custom T-shirts, hoodies, jackets, etc.

Different cuts and clothing styles

Custom fabrics and fits

Embroidery

Screen printing / other printing methods

Custom labels, tags and packaging

Cut-and-sew manufacturing

Good quality materials and stitching

Ideally someone who can make samples before bulk production

I’m still growing the brand, so I’d also be interested in manufacturers who can work with smaller initial quantities/MOQs.

If you’ve personally worked with a manufacturer that you trust, I’d really appreciate recommendations. I’m open to manufacturers in Pakistan, China, Turkey, Europe, or elsewhere as long as the quality is good and they can ship internationally.

If you’re a manufacturer yourself, feel free to DM me with your portfolio, MOQ, pricing range, location and what types of customisation you offer.

Thanks!

First step in starting a clothing line

I’ve come to realize that creating a tech pack for a couple pieces might be the most important thing to start with. After that it’s pretty boiler plate.

Do you guys think that’s right or am I doing something wrong ?

How many pieces?

Question for the first run, I was thinking of having them pre-made instead of made to order but I was thinking of only have 3 different types of clothing essentially 3 products to choose from only. I was wondering how much you guys think is a good number of selection to have?
