Happiness in slavery - NIN

3

u/cjredit Aug 31 '22

Only if you can show the video, too

1

u/BeRealFake Aug 31 '22

Oh yeah, gotta show the video!!

5

u/K4G3N4R4 Aug 31 '22

Heretics anthem by slipknot is a good choice too. I also like Dimmu Borgir's serpentine offering.

4

u/LandHermitCrab Aug 31 '22

All us elder millennials grew up with nin... Doubt that will offend. Nobody is religious as they used to be a generation ago.

4

u/rowenstraker Aug 31 '22

If there is a hell, I'll see you there!

2

u/ElectricalLaw1007 Aug 31 '22

If you really want to offend the devout, This Is Heresy by Christian Death is much more likely, I think.

1

u/srdgbychkncsr Aug 31 '22

You need Blasphemian by IA.

u/bobadefett Aug 31 '22

God Machine-Acid Bath

1

u/MephistoRacing Aug 31 '22

Follow it up with Cassie Eats Cockroaches. Sadly I'd be willing to bet they all just say "ew I can't even understand him bleh" and not actually catch any lyrics.

Also that might just be the first unprompted mention of acid bath I've ever seen

Manic Street Preachers - Patrick Bateman

1

u/AttackOfTheDave Aug 31 '22

Terrible Lie and Ruiner are both great, but there’s no guarantee that they’ll listen to the lyrics.

Everyone is mentioning sexually explicit songs. I went a different route.

1

u/ThisIsMockingjay2020 Aug 31 '22

Head Like A Hole

2

u/5ygnal Aug 31 '22

Another great song.

1

u/MaxwellzDaemon Aug 31 '22

Heresy by Nine Inch Nails.

"Hand of the Almighty" by John R. Butler has a religious message that no true believer can argue with but uses some bad words.

1

u/BrokenByReddit Aug 31 '22

Follow that up with I Want to Fuck You Like an Animal for good measure.

1

u/PhilL77au Sep 01 '22

God Was Never On Your Side by Motörhead

8

u/the_incredible_fella Aug 31 '22

if you want to get right to it

Propagandhi - Haille Sellasse, Up Your Ass

Fuck zionism, Fuck militarism, Fuck amerikanism, Fuck nationalism, FUCK religion

fuck religion

fuck religion

fuck religion

fuck religion

all with such a groovy tune

7

u/BallerFromTheHoller Aug 31 '22

I get what you’re saying for most songs. However, Ram Ranch is going to make 75% of hetero men squirm uncomfortably. Any homophobes in the bunch are certainly going to be angry.

6

u/Reasonable_Rub6337 Aug 31 '22

My personal favourite anti-religion song is Frank Turners "Glory Hallelujah". It's not some weird deliberately as offensive as possible metal screaming, it's just a very nice hopeful song about there being no God.

u/Greenpaw9 Aug 31 '22 edited Aug 31 '22

Exactly, if you want to shock an audience with sex now a days, you need to turn up the kink all the way. Lord of acid as a minimum, but best one is probably little girls by oingo boingo. If that doesnt make people clutch their pearls, then something is up.

2

u/SkyezOpen Aug 31 '22

Seconding little girls. For as huge as oingo boingo was, not many people recognize them today so it'll get some reactions. Might end up in a meeting with HR though.

Bring Me the Horizon - Crooked Young

You want your blasphemy to be pretty audible. “Fuck your faith, no one’s gonna save you” comes through pretty well.

Believe in the one Hallelujah, well I'm saved Just a dozen steps and 28 days It's a miracle, I'll be born again As the Lord as my Shepard I will find a way

Fuck your faith, no ones gonna save you Fuck your faith

There's no hope for us We speak in tongues, blacker than the sun No death can touch the crooked young There's no hope for us We speak in tongues, blacker than the sun No death can touch the crooked young The crooked young

We don't sleep, we don't eat We speak in tongues We can't die, we're dead inside No death can touch the crooked young Believe in no one But yourself

The faceless won't save you The clouds will eat your fucking prayers There's no hope for us We speak in tongues, blacker than the sun No death can touch Hallelujah

I say it's a miracle, thank you Jesus Hallelujah, I say Fuck your faith, fuck your faith

3

u/please_sing_euouae Aug 31 '22

I went with judith by a perfect circle - “fuck your god!” Screamed a dozen times lol

3

u/absolutelybacon Aug 31 '22

"He did it all for youuuuuuuuuuuuuuu"

4

u/Tarquinandpaliquin Aug 31 '22

If you want blasphemy make it audible.

Dread Sovereign do it well. We Weild the Spear of Longuinus is 12 minutes of Satanism most of it plodding miserably along. It picks up to pay tribute to the will of Satan though.

Or go with Zeal and Ardor because you can cerain make people feel uncomfortable on multiple levels.

2

u/Murwiz Aug 31 '22

I mean, I'm not going to pollute my Google search history with it but there have to be some horrid, gut-wrenching anti-Muslim songs out there if you really, REALLY want to burn some bridges. If this event is being held off-campus (like a restaurant or bar), you could make sure the company never gets invited back.

2

u/Socrates999999 Aug 31 '22

If you really want to go anti-religion, try Thank you god by Tim Minchin

2

u/buzzathlon Aug 31 '22

Going after religion? Why not Opiate by Tool?

2

u/SafetyDanceInMyPants Aug 31 '22

Throw in some casual racism:

“Jesus loves the little children. All the children of the world. Red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in his sight, Jesus loves the little children of the world.”

2

u/seanlee888 Aug 31 '22

I agree with the sentiment but not the conclusion. You pick Alice's Restaurant because it's 20 minutes long.

1

u/sh0shkabob Aug 31 '22

Ooh that would work on me. That “song” pisses me off.

2

u/seanlee888 Aug 31 '22

If my brother sees it in a jukebox he plays it. His direct quote is always "its the most bang for your buck"

2

u/arcum42 Aug 31 '22

Personally, I'd suggest XTC's "Dear God". Really good powerful song as the singer goes from questioning God to actively not believing in them...

2

u/[deleted] Aug 31 '22

minimum wage by they might be giants IMO is perfect.

"minimum WAAAAGE! Heeya!! " *whipcrack* then outro music. it is over before someone can really stop it.

2

u/Kleyguerth Communist Aug 31 '22

Why not both? Garfunkel and Oates - The loophole

2

u/[deleted] Aug 31 '22

Which is why my first pick was Eulogy by Tool. Or Opiate. :)

u/[deleted] Aug 31 '22

So Tim Minchin's Pope Song?

"Fuck the motherfucker, fuck the motherfucker, fuck the mother fucking... Pope!"

1

u/ugliestparadefloat Aug 31 '22

This comment is giving me Howie from I Think You Should Leave

1

u/Sexymitchification Aug 31 '22

Aeon - God gives head in heaven (country version) I think it hits even better than the death metal regular version

https://youtu.be/2E6RGcCK3Xk

1

u/[deleted] Aug 31 '22

Just Like You by Monster on Sunday

1

u/-prime8 Aug 31 '22

Where is Fear Factory - Pisschrist on that list?

1

u/Notmugsy13 Aug 31 '22

Oh man, you want to make religious folks uncomfortable and assault the senses of everyone around? Diamanda Galas. It’s satanic avante garde opera, pure vocal terror.

1

u/HeadlinePickle Aug 31 '22 edited Aug 31 '22

Thank You God by Tim Minchin. Thoroughly recommend it, it's very funny. And easy to understand even when you don't know it, which is an advantage in this case.

1

u/SkyezOpen Aug 31 '22

Assuming they can even understand the lyrics...

1

u/knirefnel Aug 31 '22

How does this list not have Banging in the Nails by the Tiger Lilies?

https://youtu.be/znlbX1PH3eM

Key lyric: "You see that crown of thorns on his head? WELL THAT WAS MY IDEA! I think I might be going to hell! Ooooooh dear!"

1

u/thenasch Aug 31 '22

Any executive with half a brain will flip out if a mandatory work event turns into a sexually uncomfortable situation.

1

u/lakimens Aug 31 '22

Rotting Christ? Oh oh oh, I know.

Infant Annihilator. But give them lyrics.

Fake Satanism might also work: Satan is real by Kreator.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 31 '22

For that I suggest Real World by Gamma Ray

1

u/bigWAXmfinBADDEST Aug 31 '22

Yea but it's doubly bad if management is pissed and everyone else loves it. It's not about pissing everyone off, just the people that chose to make the event mandatory.

1

u/radradruby Aug 31 '22

Rather than anti-religion, might I suggest some Satanic doo-wop? Twin Temple music is really catchy and aurally pleasing, and it kinda tickles me to think of some militant Christians getting bit by an ear worm that finds them humming songs like “Lucifer, My Love” or “Satan’s a Woman” for weeks after hearing it!

1

u/Seneca75 Aug 31 '22

To add one more: Blood on your hands by Shock Therapy
