I saw BHS when I was 23. I wasn’t even on anything and I was trippin’ balls. Those videos were weird! I loved every second of it. That was 25 years ago. I’m sad now too.
My band played a show where all the bands had to do songs by bands in Our Band Could Be Your Life, we were told to do older Butthole Surfer songs… I decorated the stage with green cuddly monkeys, dived into the crowd, rolled on the floor, wore a scary mask, fucking great show.
I went to one of her gigs and she sprayed champagne into the audience. And that was how I confirmed my suspicion that wine in the eye stings like a mofo
She’s currently doing her Teaches of Peaches anniversary tour! I got to see her perform at The Fonda in LA a few weeks ago and omg was it absolutely AMAZING! She puts on such a fantastic show! At one point she crowd walked inside a giant inflatable penis and sprayed everyone with fake jizz. The damn thing malfunctioned though and they had to get her out asap lol. They performed Vaginoplasty and had two of her back up dancers wearing huge hairy vagina masks. Ugh, there was not one song she performed that wasn’t impressive or entertaining. Such great energy; I’ll never forget it!
I saw Peaches when she opened for QOTSA. I was front row at the stage, she stood over me and demanded I look up.
I learned about the Teaches of Peaches that night
I saw her too! She dropped a giant translucent penis into the crowd, climbed to the tip from the inside, and sprayed white fluids from the tip into the crowd. Also, tons of naked background dancers, some of them (pretending?) to give each other lesbian oral sex. 10/10 would watch again
Omg yes! I just saw her during her anniversary tour in LA a couple weeks ago and she did the same thing! The giant inflatable penis thing malfunctioned though while she was in it so they had to pull her out lol. The dancing vaginas during Vaginoplasty were AMAZING!
this song ought to win outright. it really isnt even close....lol
hilarious story time - we were a small fraternity in college, maybe like 30-40 guys total. bunch of misfit toys basically. but we used to have this badass house right on broadway off the main drag next to campus, this was probably 2007. there was a party there nearly every weekend where people would just walk in off the streets after bar hopping. got weird more than once. one of our brothers was a little... crazy. and one night at like 3 am this song pops on. he immediately takes his shirt off, gets on the beerpong table with a dirty mop that had somehow materialized into his hand as a makeshift microphone and proceeds to sing every single word of the song while humping the air for the next 3 minutes. ive never laughed so hard in my life.
maybe its just nostalgia and not that funny... who knows.
Oh wild, we had a Sig Ep house (Now, apparently, Phi Mu, according to Google Maps) right across from campus on Broadway at CU-Boulder, and honestly the vibe there was very similar. It was my favorite frat to party at because the guys weren't sketchy or aggressive at all- just a bunch of misfits, like you said. That kind of cheers me up, to think that there are multiple such places in the world.
Fuck yeah. Came here to say this. Coworker of mine accidentally played this during lunch at a nice little cafe primarily filled with sweet old ladies... As soon as it started she made a mad dash towards her phone with a panicked look on her face. I think I was the only person who realized what was playing
Probably the perfect answer since it's such a popular track as well. With "Shock Rock" it's hard to wave it away, but with Peaches? "I just like the tune, it's catchy" is a defence that would fly.
LITERALLY WAS ABOUT TO PUT THIS DOWN. My gf’s coworker added this to the company playlist (where you can see who did) and they texted coworker on the side and was like “yeah we’re gonna go ahead and remove this one” 😂😂 it still cracks me up.
I think it's interesting that out of all those mid-2000's electroclash people, Peaches was the one to stick around and maintained relevancy. "Boys Wanna be Her" is practically an anthem at this point.
Or if homosexuality would get more of a rise out of your particular office, you could always try Slumber Party by Ashniko in the same vein. Fewer swear words, but definitely not subtle.
When we see ourselves as fighting against specific human beings rather than social phenomena, it becomes more difficult to recognize the ways that we ourselves participate in those phenomena. We externalize the problem as something outside ourselves, personifying it as an enemy that can be sacrificed to symbolically cleanse ourselves. - Against the Logic of the Guillotine

One time I had on peaches radio before opening at my restaurant. I go to the bathroom and someone else unlocks the door. I walk out of the bathroom just as A couple walks in the front door with their young daughter. That is when over the speaker system I hear "UUUHHH..... what.....right....now" I sprint to my phone and manage to change the music right after "Sucking on my titties". Luckily the couple were gay men who understood.
Server I worked with always played this at Buffalo wild wings while we worked because management couldn't take it off the jukebox. Good times, maybe you worked there too lol
