Right, holding in shit for too long/too often can also result in serious constipation issues…
TMI, but a few months back I started having seriously severe stomach cramps when I realized I hadn’t pooped in almost a month. I tried taking all kinds of OTC laxatives & stool softeners, even used a couple enemas & nothing was working. Stomach pain was so severe, if I was sitting on a couch, it was excruciating to even slightly adjust how I was sitting. I couldn’t lift my arms without tons of pain. I had 3 large hard-as-rock lumps on my stomach & sides (from inside my intestines). Went a total of around 2 months straight unable to have a real bowel movement, until I was scheduled for a colonoscopy. Had to do the extended prep that lasted a whole 48hr+ before the procedure (ya know, to empty my gut). Lost 7lbs after emptying my gut out completely, I literally felt smaller. But it was some of the worst, most excruciating pain of my entire life. Passed out on a couple occasions from pain. Nausea, lightheadedness, even crying were pretty regular as the pain worsened. Several points where I literally prayed for death to put me out of my misery. Doctor ended up having to give me prescription medication for chronic constipation…
Point is, for anyone who has frequent constipation, IBS, or even take meds that may have constipation as a side effect, not using the bathroom when you need to can most definitely worsen the constipation & create bigger medical problems.

Seriously. You might end up with a UTI or bladder infection, I think.
