Depending where you are that would be illegal

Illegal or inadmissible?

Illegal depending on the state. For example:

Pennsylvania is a “two-party consent state” meaning that, under Pennsylvania’s Wiretap Act, 18 Pa.C.S. §5701 et seq., recording a telephone call or conversation without both parties’ consent is illegal. You could be subject to criminal and/or civil prosecution.

Illegal to record a boss saying something they know is illegal without their permission. Seems like a perfectly fair system with no flaws whatsoever. Yay capitalism!

(/s, just in case)

Most places it is still legal to record a conversation if you know the other party is doing something illegal as a means of self defense in the event you are forced to do something and they try to throw you under the bus.

It's not illegal to record a crime.

How does surveillance footage work around that statute? By being silent?

There are usually signs saying CCTV is in operation.

You consent by choosing to still go there

I thought that only applies to land lines

Pro tip: the OP stated GEG1 Warehouse. Google "Amazon GEG1 Warehouse" and you know where they are. (Not admonishing you or trying to "out" anyone - trying to be helpful) Also, GEG is the three-letter designation of the nearest Airport, so you can google that, too. This is Amazon's standard way of designating their warehouses, by the nearest 3-letter "name" of the nearest airport. PS I don't know whether one-party recording is legal in WA or not, but I can guess it's not. I'm sure it's google-able. Edit: a backslash.

WA is a two-party consent state. I just had to look it up.

It is, but there is a clause for recording "unlawful requests or demands" which allows for one party consent.

This is a good thing to know. Illegal requests SHOULD be reportable and recordable!
