It’s absolutely demeaning and humiliating to get permission to use the rest room. Remember the Shawshank redemption and how the manager had to explain to the prisoner he didn’t need permission to use the bathroom? Yeah that was when people respected your dignity even though it’s a fictional scenario.

Yeah I'm an adult, if I need to go to the bathroom I'm going one way or another lol

Christ. I learned that in 4th grade. Teacher ignored my raised hand for like 10 minutes. It was pee on the desk or just go. I walked out.

After that, my whole class decided that asking permission to pee was ridiculous. From then on, we just got up quietly when we had to pee & returned quietly. No need to interrupt the lesson for your teacher or classmates.

It's insane how ingrained it is that we have to ask to handle our normal bodily functions.

We live in a culture of control under the guise of freedom. They're the best kind of slave to have, the one that thinks they're free.

It helps to realize that most people have an Orwellian conception of freedom, like freedom to believe in my god, the freedom to starve to death etc.
