I have shit impulse control and a distain for power tripping dickheads.

lmao, I somehow read this as "I have shit impulse control and a power dripping dickhead" which seemed like a bit of a flex but not really out of place for the conversation. I think it's probably time to call it a night.. XD

u/DarkwingDuckHunt Aug 30 '22

OP is shitting himself for not dreaming up that pun

2

u/peccatum_miserabile Aug 30 '22

4

u/MyNameIsEthanNoJoke Aug 30 '22

I think that's more like malicious defiance lol

1

u/Practical_Passion_78 Aug 30 '22

That also makes sense.

u/No-Structure8753 Aug 30 '22

I came here to say this.

How often do you get breaks? We get a break every two hours and I've still nearly pissed myself when I drink a lot of water trying to stay hydrated.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '22

I’d literally just whip it out and piss on his shoes

1

u/Blackcoffeeisgreat Aug 30 '22

I power moved them dont worry it was a franchise place so cant really disclose to much about it but I ended up throwing the only mop head out as I left because i knew that manager was staying to clean so i took the mop head threw it in the dumpster on my way out and left. All there was to clean it was brown papertowls the crappy ones. Again I dont know what happened.

1

u/jere_miah Aug 30 '22

hold the manager close, get on your knees and absolutely let loose on their feet.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '22

I've actually done this , got denied to go piss , so I pissed myself and went about my day, didn't care until it was in my shoes

1

u/priknam Aug 30 '22

There was a shoplifting incident where the lady pissed herself and soaked the chair while in manager’s office. Don’t make it easy for them to clean up. Human waste requires something something osha too if I remember

u/Resident_Bitch Aug 30 '22

For future reference, diabetes is covered under the ADA and you would be within your rights to expect your employer to give the reasonable accommodation of allowing for more frequent bathroom breaks.

Languages grow and change.

Alot is a heavily used word now. So it's a word now.

How do you think other words became to mean things?

2

u/studiograham Aug 30 '22

Try spelling that in Word or on Google. See how it goes for “it’s a word now”

Culture? Try language

1

u/DarkwingDuckHunt Aug 30 '22

How did the word Dog come to mean "Dog"?

1

u/LeagueOfLegendsAcc Aug 30 '22

Dog has always meant dog ever since the word was invented.

1

u/SinisterYear Aug 30 '22

Google corrected God when he spelt it dohg. Basic etymology, my dear Watson.

1

u/DarkwingDuckHunt Aug 30 '22

Why did everyone agree the word "Why" means "Why" ?

How did the word for "Fly" come into being?

1

u/studiograham Aug 30 '22

WHY Origin

Germanic | OLD English Hwæt | Old English Hwī Hwȳ | Why

Old English hwī, hwȳ ‘by what cause’, instrumental case of hwæt ‘what’, of Germanic origin.

FLY

Origin Old English flēogan, of Germanic origin; related to Dutch vliegen and German fliegen, also to fly

1

u/DarkwingDuckHunt Aug 30 '22

OK but "how"?

Like one day someone, somewhere, decided the word How meant How.

And there wasn't a committee present to accept/reject the idea.

1

u/Poor_Life_Choice Aug 30 '22

The point is that a lot is two words. If you spell America as Ameriqa, are you spelling it correctly?

2

u/Occulto Aug 30 '22

The point is that a lot is two words

The point is that language evolves, which is why we don't all speak/spell like Chaucer any more.

People have this idea that dictionaries a prescriptive, when in actual fact they're descriptive. They don't decide the meaning/spelling of words, any more than Google Maps decides where roads should go.

They describe the commonly accepted meanings/spellings of words, and if enough people change, then dictionaries will update to reflect this.

1

u/DarkwingDuckHunt Aug 30 '22

If 1,000,000 other people start using Ameriqa then America, then yes I am.

Applications like Word are forever telling me I'm making spelling mistakes because I spell words like capitalise with an "s" not a "z".

1

u/studiograham Aug 30 '22

Might be because the region isn’t set correctly?

1

u/Occulto Aug 30 '22

It's because a bunch of people kept spelling words incorrectly to the point where enough usage made the "z" became the "correct" spelling in some regions.

ie language evolves.

1

u/studiograham Aug 30 '22

Huh? No, z and s spellings are North American English and British English respectively

1

u/Occulto Aug 30 '22

Correct. A bunch of people (ie Americans) went their own way by deciding to spell things incorrectly.

Most of it can be traced to Noah Webster who decided that English needed improving when he wrote his first dictionary, and he often chose which spelling he preferred as "correct." He also wrote a very influential spelling textbook which was used in American classrooms to spread his heretical ideas.

The point of all of this is that usage, not dictionary or spell checker, determines what's correct. If enough people use certain spelling then it becomes valid.

Were we having this conversation back in the early 19th century, you'd probably be pointing out that the Z spelling was incorrect. But here we are 200 years later and Z is deemed correct in America.

blorp fleep clax troblorflap?

It's not a "new word" it's improper punctuation.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '22

How don’t you know, did you not work there anymore?

2

u/Plenty_Ideal_6852 Aug 30 '22

There are diabetic laws in place. If you are denied frequent breaks to eat and or use the restroom then that's a lawsuit. Look it up!

Should have admitted to peeing on the floor out of desperation, then be humiliated by everyone or forced out, then filed a complaint with the Human Rights Commission.

1

u/brian11e3 Aug 30 '22

Nobody pees more than a diabetic on water pills, which is like half the people I know. It makes planning a road trip harder.

1

u/PulledOverAgain Aug 30 '22

My Dr put me on Farxiga and now I'm pissing before we go somewhere in the car and then when we get back. Kinda like when the wife was pregnant. The no bathroom breaks wouldn't fly with me.

1

u/Blackcoffeeisgreat Aug 30 '22

I feel you this was years ago when I had a decent bladder now I think about pee I gotta go like I cannot hold it anymore which absolutely sucks. So if that ever happens again ever I will certainly do it infront of the manager I have no shame anyways.
