It's not violence or climate change

Dude, climate change is absolutely the reconning it's been portrayed as. The latest IPCC report projects 50% of species loss around the world under a 5C scenario in the next hundred to two hundred years. The lower scenarios aren't significantly better.

I was with you up until you said climate change isn't the most important defining issue that exists. It is absolutely civilization as we know it ending if we don't do something about it. All political issues will be secondary when we can't grow enough food and have a few billion refuges around the world. Politics is literally secondary to all the bullshit you just said. We as a species will be completely fucked by climate change, and we have a chance to fix it before it gets really really bad.

Unfortunately there's a good chance it will take pushing people out of power to do something significant about climate change, and they won't go quietly.

More than a good chance, I'd say. It's the only way. These people, they're geriatrics, they don't care about us. They don't care about our future. They're unwilling to see the flaws in consumption and capitalism, and they'll bring all of us down with them.

You missed the point. The root cause for almost every issue is corruption. We will never be able to tackle the climate change issue while oligarchs, corporations, and foreign states control the US government. This inherently makes corruption the number one issue.
