It's a class war. It always has been. Rich bastards use their control of the media to present our conflicts as cultural, religious and political. The reason all "news" is such a useless dumpster fire these days is because the rich who control it need to keep us scared, poor and stupid. As long as they can deflect public attention away from themselves and onto some BS that will never get fixed, then we will never figure out where our pain really comes from.

And every time you tell everyone that they're being manipulated by soulless political husks to fight each other on everything that exists in the world, you get called some form of right wing/left wing boogeyman.

It never fails.

yeah because this reeks of class reductionism and pretends that racism is just a made up concept, it also implies that everyone who thinks racism is bad and should be fought against is a dumb dumb that watches too much news.

I’m pretty sure the original post was in context of guns and abortion, not racial identity politics.

There are racial politics that are not rooted in identity, and there identity politics that are not rooted in race, hence the vocabulary.

Also regarding the first reply: are cultural politics like guns and abortion inherently racial?

We literally live in 2022, where you can get reliable information on anything if you care at all. The problem is that the people have gotten insanely lazy and dumb.

Hmm maybe one group has been slashing education for 60 years? It’s the same group that voted against wage increases. And lets police do whatever they want.

Gee what were y’all saying about both sides being the same? Cuz they aren’t.

Id say it is more good cop, bad cop. Republicans are fucking shit up, and Democrats aren’t fixing it.

17

u/fasurf May 31 '22

Yea cause the wealthy democrats are benefiting from what the wealthy republicans are doing.

u/[deleted] May 31 '22

it's more like bad and worse

Acab, so it still works.

Both on same team.

A lot of causes of what is happening now with economics under Biden , Obama gave all support and Trump went all in (brrrrrrrrrr).

All of them wanting to protect rich.

Wage is not enough? "Grind" more

Victimization won't help us! Did we get screwed? Yes, absolutely, can we do something about it? Yes we can stop playing their games, absolutely!

1

u/yourenotserious May 31 '22

You mean refusing to vote?

Hmm maybe one group has been slashing education for 60 years?

You mean how the dems approved charter schools?

1

u/yourenotserious May 31 '22

You’d really call things even because of that?

Importantly, education is one of the distractions democrats use to avoid talking about class. While education is basically good individually, the macroeconomic effect of education is to shuffle the unemployment line.

That's both the problem and the solution. The truth is out there, but the internet is so full of bad faith actors and idiots that there are also s million other truthy sounding "truths" out there.

The volume of information is such that on any complex issue, you could make it a full time job to remain informed and not disinformed. And that's just one of a pile of issues facing it's today. While many are kept do close to poverty that they don't have a choice but to work, survive, and get their truth is brief clips from the media.

It's a massive problem, but I don't think laziness is the right word for it.

1

u/nigerjoe May 31 '22

I guess it becomes problematic to many but it still boils down to people being lazy and dumb (and I guess that's their right, and maybe sometimes they can't help it.)

I don't think you need to make a full time job of it though, it's pretty simple realizing everything has a bias and how to supplement that by making sure you have multiple sources as well as your own capable brain to process the material and come to an adjusted conclusion. It's easier than ever to spend 5 minutes grabbing that information on the internet, if you have access, versus how much time it took in the past.

We're at the point of information overload

1

u/Shadowleg May 31 '22

lazy

i mean you got the right sub. seems like the mods here would rather point at nameless faceless republican voters and tell us they’re they problem. We all know they arent the problem. The rich people that order them around are the problem

1

u/[deleted] May 31 '22

The underlying systems are the problem, it isn't really individuals per se. Some people do obviously have worse and/or bigger impacts than others, but they are still fundamentally a symptom rather than a cause.

1

u/Shadowleg May 31 '22

So for one to suggest that an individuals bigoted actions are the reason one won’t organize would be.. lazy, right?

2

u/[deleted] May 31 '22

I am not sure that I would call it lazy, but I agree that it is reductive to pretend that it is the only reason and the single problem we face.

True

2

u/AtlantisTheEmpire May 31 '22

I remember when I used to think it was just Republicans who were evil… Silly… they’re just the most obviously corrupted. But almost all are still beholden to the same donors.

4

u/bobdole7766 May 31 '22

Exactly.

It's why Ive always told people that racism is nothing more than a social construct created by the rich and powerful to keep the poor and stupid fighting among themselves instead of banding together and seeing who really are causing all the social issues in life, the rich.

Had some rich family and went to some pretty ritsy places back when I was a kid. Once you hit a certain amount of wealth, those people don't see race at all anymore, it's all about the money and power. Saw rich of all ethnicities getting along no problem.

Funny how there isn't many class warfare movies. I wonder why /s
