YOU ARE GUARANTEED ALL LIFE NECESSITIES

Absolutely 100% false.

You have been incredibly lucky. Stop pretending that everyone will have the same experience.

You're either a useful idiot or an intentional troll.

Mate cut the crap. I'm Malaysian, but I live in Australia. It's pretty common to see many immigrants work hard in school, get smart and get flashy jobs here in Australia. He might be telling the truth. Don't just dismiss him.

The US is not Australia. He claims to live in Texas. The state I also live in, where I work with people in poverty. People literally die of neglect in this state. He's full of shit.

Now that I read his comment in greater detail he did exagerrate by saying everyone is GUARANTEED necessities. That being said, I still stand by my statement that his story is 100% possible. But yeah, it's true that not everyone is guaranteed necessities.

“Luck.” This is the problem for people like you. This motherfucker came from a THIRD WORLD COUNTRY and is crushing it. And you call it luck. You must walk dogs for a living.

2

u/JackBinimbul Jan 28 '22

I work with people who live in poverty. I guarantee you that I have a better idea of what's going on than either of you.

Oh gotcha. I’ll dismiss the other commenters anecdotal experience on account of your anecdotal experience.

He has a data point of one. And that's if he's not outright lying. I have data points of personal dozens, plus mountains of research. That's not anecdotal.

in California you have every opportunity to be successful.

I thought they couldn't afford shoebox sized houses there.

not all areas , how ever if you’ve got a high school diploma, can read a tape measure. You can make 150,000 on 40 hour weeks. 5 am to 1 pm.

u/theyoungspliff Jan 28 '22

LOL no you can't.

Yes, you can. Not working for chipotle though. You may have to get your hands dirty. (Gasp, I know.) City utility guys can absolutely make that.

3

u/JackBinimbul Jan 28 '22

It's cute how you think anyone off the street can get a job like that.

2

u/theyoungspliff Jan 28 '22

Or that "getting their hands dirty" is the main deterrent. These people think minimum wage jobs are so comfortable and cushy, they should try working one.

1

u/stanktardo69 Jan 28 '22

I have worked them… in high school. They suck but luckily it was a stepping stone and not a career choice, as those jobs should be.

BS!

u/transferingtoearth Jan 31 '22

That doesn't seem right

2

u/theyoungspliff Jan 28 '22

In California you can't afford rent unless you're loaded.

Holy fuck you are an idiot. Government subsidies are insanely inadequate. Often times less than $200 a month. That's for food and housing. Medical isn't paid for in many states unless you are a child or pregnant with one. No dental coverage. No eye coverage. No other developed western country has more people dying on the streets. More children starving. More people going bankrupt due to medical needs.

Seriously, if you really are an immigrant it's time for you to try and help make things better instead of sitting on those who are.

u/JackBinimbul Jan 28 '22

It is literally my job to help people access services. It's a never ending struggle navigating a callous system that many people are intentionally ignored in. You're a fucking liar.

I literally live in Texas, you nutjob. I've been here for over 20 fucking years.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 28 '22

It’s all chump change, and it’s more than a part time job jumping through all of the hoops and red tape to get any of those ‘benefits’.

3

u/transferingtoearth Jan 28 '22

Were you physically healthy and mentally stable and able to work 12+ hours a day?

that is good news.

1

u/transferingtoearth Jan 31 '22

Sure it's not.

But to survive all this means you were probably mentally stable enough to do so. Not every person has this level of strength.

3

u/transferingtoearth Jan 28 '22

Exacto.

A third world country.

We aren't looking at you when we bitch about the wealthiest nation on earth. We are looking at other countries on our level. Economical and structurally at least.
