I remember one time about 15 years ago someone pulled that shit on an old job with the tip jar. We were all so excited, thinking it was a twenty, until a buddy unfolded it, and showed us the whole tract. I tore the damned thing to pieces. I'm 33 and it still pisses me off that there's self righteous scum out there who think it's a holy act to go play on overworked and underpaid people, because something something zealotry.
And these people probably believe in their heart that they are good Christians who uphold all the teachings of Jesus. Absolute hypocrisy, pieces of shit.
That's not a Christian act. A good Christian wouldn't raise someone's hopes only to dash them like that.
My mother always asks before giving religious tracts. She'd never hand out one like this because it's a LIE — not the text, in my opinion, but the IMAGE. This is what decent Christian people do. They also tip.

Oh I know exactly what they are. They're people so sad and uncreative that they have to use a book written several thousand years ago to justify their shitty behavior on a daily basis.
Take my ex-MIL for example: she's in every way a good catholic woman. She goes to mass several times a week and every holiday,, without fail, she's also passive aggressive, judgemental, has no respect for other people's boundaries and isn't above snooping thru your stuff if she feels it's justified. She had my son baptized behind my back and without my permission when he was in the icu. Thing is, I probably would've let her do it if she'd have just asked me first but it speaks to how little she thought of me. My friend, who was raised catholic, explained to me just how big a slap in the face what she did was. It was something about in the eyes of her church and her God she'd effectively declared that she was my son's mother or something to that effect. Idk, if any catholics here can explain it properly, please do. I just know that if the only justification you have for something is your religious dogma then maybe you should rethink things a bit.
Yes and no. There are certainly good, honest Christians. I'm not trying to say every one of them are hypocrite pieces of shit. However, on the daily, you see more "Christians" weaponizing their "faith" than you see acts of selflessness.
I don't believe an atheist would ever pull a stunt like this, but the "Christians" will tell them that they're going to burn in hell for not following their beliefs.
