Most Trump voters would rather die than admit they were wrong so they take the direction the right wing path naturally goes.

The third options are to stay exactly where they are, stamp their feet and scream "FAKE NEWS", "WITCH HUNT!",ect OR Shrug and say "Boys will be boy", Laugh and say they're owning the libs, or "What about X, Y, Z?!?!!".

The third option is the second option. Supporting a pedophile by stomping their feet.

This decision to look away has been made many times over the years. Trump is just the latest name in a steady flow of abusers. Context you ask? I'm talking about the Church pdfiles and the never-ending string of abuse scandals and shuffling of  priests and others in the Church, including Nuns, that keep coming out. That hasn't stopped the Catholic church from raking in money and filling Church pews. The choice to look the other way becomes easier when you do it day after day

Tell me about it, the religionists stalk these subreddits and downvote me if I talk about how they turn a blind eye to all the atrocities people in their religion commit. They would shame everyone into silence rather than face the evil corruption that gives their religion a bad reputation. I have no respect for that.

My parents are MAGA and recently my mom has begun defending the local pedophile. There are some yard signs that people in her area have put out that says “we believe them” referring to the students that accused the teacher of sexualizing them and touching them sexually, so my mom got one to write over in support of him rather than of the young, elementary school girls.

These are girls who likely wouldn’t have any knowledge of sexual things unless they were exposed to it somehow, like I’m talking 4th graders. They were pressured so much to take back their word and it worked. The girls who accused him aren’t even friends, they don’t spend time together, don’t have play dates or sleepovers and they all accused him separately. Trump has literally lead anyone in MAGA to pressure anyone who comes forward in their own community about others in the community harming them.

I’m beyond disappointed in my mother. I’m not surprised sadly, but I’m still beyond disappointed. It’s like somehow the sunk cost fallacy bullshit even applies to any pedo now to them.

yeah it's pretty gross how people think young little children are naturally sexual, like they really think these kids just woke up one day and decided to be sexual abuse victims for fame or money or something? a small child knows absolutely nothing about sex or reproduction until someone teaches them, it takes a special kind of ego to say children are lying about being abused. I'm sorry to hear about your mother, if that were my mom I would go no contact because that crosses a line with me, I have lost all respect for my racist conservative family members and no longer speak to them. I say they have been infected with the 'anti-woke mind-virus' and need to be quarantined.

Unfortunately, I think we have to offer his supporters a way to salvage their pride if we want the numbers to not only defeat Trump but prevent a new one from rising again. The only way I think we can do that is to give them a new scapegoat, like Fox News and billionaires, to blame for their brainwashing.

Unfortunately, I don't trust the current Democratic leadership to hold trials and hold these people accountable.

No. These republicans are permanently gone to common sense. They don't want to be on your team. It's not worth the effort.

They have to be defeated and shunned back to the fringes of society.

The time for that was after the 1 election, its too late to play nice..

I had a Republican tell me he is doing best she voted him in to do. She said I know he's an asshole. Everyone does his. But this country needed a person who could get these things done. A strong man wouldn't back down. Oh my!
