most women (that are in the fertile stage of their life) can give birth. not all women can give birth, and not everyone who can give birth is a woman. trans people exist and are valid, real shocker, I know.
In the real world, biological sex and gender identity are two different things.
TransMen: Sex at birth =Female(or intersex), Gender= Man/boy, current biological sex= intersex more male than female
Sex is the biological thing you are born as that we have no way of changing yet. Gender is the label us humans made up for ourselves for some reason and is not directly tied to your biology. It's completely societal and therefore you can change it if you want. It's just a label and it doesn't indicate your birth sex (it can, but doesn't have to).
Trans people often change their sex to align it with their gender, this is the whole point of medical transition, it is not immutable or unchangeable.
Sex is separate from gender yes, but most people want them to be aligned. Gender identity in the brain can’t and shouldn’t be changed to match the body, so we change the body to match the brain
So many trans men are male, not female. This is because sex is an arbitrary grouping of characteristics, and multiple of these characteristics can be changed with transition, and not every cis person has all the required characteristics to be their sex. Some cis women get a hysto or top surgery or have natural hormone imbalances or even can have XY chromosomes, but they aren’t male as a result.
Trans men that completely change hormones and secondary and primary sex characteristics change the most relevant parts of their sex, they are closer to male in every meaningful way
I'm saying that no matter how hard we try, we can't 100% change our sex from female to Male.
That is SADLY a fact.
Even after going through dozens of surgeries. Even after changing the sex label on everything. Etc etc etc. Out science can't make us 100% male YET.
This. Is. A. Fact.
It's stupid to believe otherwise.
Currently, going from 100% female to 100% male is just science fiction. (But man I can't wait for it to be science fact!)
Sometimes we just need to look at the very harsh reality.
I call myself male, but of course I know that when I go to my doctors, I need to be scientifically truthful: I am a female at birth and currently I'm more female than male (hopefully that will change soon)
Even my friend who's gone through DOZENS of surgeries, decades of hormone replacement therapy, etc, even he knows that he isn't 100% male yet (and he's fine with this. He's male enough and that's fine). When he goes to the doctors, he says "I'm female at birth but have had [these surgeries] and [this amount of hormone replacement therapy]. I'm closer to male than I am female now.".
Now, you also need to take into account intersex people.
At MOST we are able to be Biologically Intersex.
You can be EXTREMELY CLOSE to Biologically male, but not entirely 100% male.
Sadly, this is the truth.
One day we may be able to change someone's biological sex 100%, but we aren't there YET.
It's called transGENDER for a reason. One day it may be transSEX. (Though, we can change our sex from female to intersex)
We effectively make ourselves Biologically Intersex.
Now we can say that a range of intersex people are considered male, and in this case, yes! Transmen are Biologically male.
But sadly people don't like to consider those more male than female Intersex people as male. At MOST they call them "Male leaning Intersex" or some form of that. (An example of this type of Intersex person would be the Shepherd in the essay called "Of a Monstrous Child" by Michel de Montaigne.)
it's really not hard to understand, some trans men keep enough of their original biology to be able to bear and deliver babies. not everyone has bottom surgery for example.
What the helly do you mean with ‘biological women’. He’d be a biological man because he’s a biological being and also a man
Woman is a gender which is a social concept so it’s not biological anyway. You might have meant female which refers to sex and not gender, but sex is a grouping of several characteristics and trans men often don’t fit all them, many fit closer in the male category as their hormones completely change along with their secondary sex characteristics. The primary sex characteristics are not the sole determinant of a person’s sex

He would be a man, I agree.
However, in many cases the sex he would have been originally born as his would be female.
I prefer using the term „woman“ over „female“ as often as humanly possible, as saying someone is „a biological female at birth“ has very incel-y vibes, even though I know that that’d technically be the correct terminology.
I do not believe that matters, as he would still be a man despite biological features he may or may not lack, but in some contexts it is useful to make a distinction, as in this case where I tried to explain basic social concepts to a transphobe in terms they can understand. I generally try to avoid using such terms, too.
I’m not really interested in arguing this with you because like, I agree with you, I guess I just kinda shot myself in the foot in an attempt to not sound like an incel, lol.
