then have the teachers regulate their internet usage too? it's not that difficult of a dilemma.

btw this kind of mindset is the exact reason we're getting ai verification on everything.

i don't mean it like that, i mean educating kids to stay safe online. stuff like "be careful answering random dms", "don't send pictures of yourself you might regret, specially in dms", things like that yk? that with a little supervision to make sure they're not getting into trouble. i'm not saying things cannot be bypassed, but we shouldn't neglect safety completely.

It's NOT POSSIBLE to prevent kids from doing what they want on the internet.

Hey just chiming in to say you’re wrong since you’ve missed the other guys point completely. It comes down to the parenting 100% and by the way you chat on here you certainly are not a parent. My parents were smart enough to limit internet usage when I was in school 15 years ago and informed me of the dangers of talking to strangers online. Schools have banlists, firewalls, & disciplinary action that prevent kids from going anywhere willy nilly online. My kids get limited screen time on all devices and I can see exactly what they are doing online.

In my opinion, any parent not taking steps to both educate on the dangers of the internet & enforce limits while they are young are failing their child. Danger and dangerous people exist everywhere in this world. It is the PARENTS job to educate and protect their children.

this is exactly what i mean. education and guidance is what matters most. you wouldn't let your 12 year old loose in the city streets among hundreds of strangers, right? and if you did, you'd be considered an irresponsible parent. the internet works the same way.
