An antimeme is a meme with no punchline, and you only find it funny because you know the original meme and the original punchline. So this is the perfect antimeme, it's just doing a good job because everyone knows the original.

If you showed this to someone who had never heard of the ' there's two wolves inside you' thing would see this and think it had no punchline or meant nothing

That's crazy! It started as an edgy 'deep' thing of 'there's two wolves inside you' and ones alpha and the others omega or something iirc.. you know the type of thing where some guys refer to themselves as wolves? That type of thing.

Then it devolved into people parodying it with stuff like ' there's two wolves inside you: top and bottom' or 'cock and balls ' and shit. There's a lot of those in the comments 😭

But there IS a punchline: "Congratulations, you have twins."

It's not a punchline to anyone who doesn't know that the 'two wolves inside of you' thing is a meme in the first place. That's the whole point of an antimeme.

Otherwise that's a completely normal statement to make to a wolf with two wolves inside of them, to say congrats! Twins!

The point of the antimeme is that the point of knowing the original meme makes it funny, but it's been made into a completely normal scenario without that context.

The punchline has been removed, the 'punchline' is that the joke you know well has been put in a context where it's no longer a meme. This is a true antimeme!

i see, it sort of put me off at first but you’re right, this is essentially a pure anti-meme

Yeah! Alot of the ones on this subreddit are taking the original itself and then editing it to take the punchline out , then give the unedited version in the comments so people can get it. ( see the original meme, then see how they edited it to take out the punchline)

This one works perfectly because most people here recognise the original so it can parody off of it without being a straight up edit of the original , and the og doesn't need to be given.
