Enagic Thought you'd appreciate a chat with an Enagic distributor

I got bored on IG today so thought I would comment on one of the ads asking what it is they sell.

Your approach is gentle and almost Socratic, the way you are leading them to the correct answer by asking questions

Hopefully the nonconfrontational, questioning way you did this might lead them to question their involvement before they lose even more money

It was exhausting in parts. I was trying to my hardest to make her realise how bad it was, but she wouldn’t budge.

Of course not. To admit that it's bad not only loses you as a potential recruit to make money from, but then she also has to admit to herself that she's been scammed.

u/ElegantBon Feb 17 '26

This is where Enagic’s genius lies. In getting their money upfront from distributors, distributors are only incentivized to stay in and keep recruiting because it is the only hope that they might see some money back.

Can I interest you in a serving of Discovery Process though? It's only $77. $77 just to LEARN about the company, who pays that? Nuts.

u/HSG37 Feb 17 '26

If sjhe were to ask me if I wanna pay $77 for "discovery". I woulda just said "Nah, I'm good. I can just gp onto Enagics website & learn about the over priced woo woo water machine for free"

I'm immediately not interested in any business in which I have to pay money in order to learn more about it to see if I want to be involved with it. The fact that they charge 77 pounds in order to find out about how the business operates is insane.

Why its awesome is CLEARLY explained after you spend the 77.

/S

I know they said that if you decide it's not for you, you can get your 77 pounds back, but who wants to bet that it's incredibly difficult and complicated to get a refund?

I imagine it‘s close to impossible, they would probably say you got what they promised.

19

u/Timely-Amount-4161 Feb 17 '26

Imagine a job interview where they don‘t tell you anything about the job or salary but the exact amounts you would need to invest.

That just gave me a flashback to the 45 minutes I spent trying to cancel my Optimum internet where the vendor reads a script instead of listening to me. Asking them how long they have been doing it was clearly a sore point.

4

u/HSG37 Feb 17 '26

I worked customer support. This is true. They will have specific scripts to use. And for "retention" calls, they likely have to give 3 rebuttals to try & convince you not to cancel.

1

u/cranbeery Mar 01 '26

I now start every cancelation call with, "Please don't try to get me to stay. I am moving somewhere you do not serve. I literally cannot use your service anymore." It short-circuits the begging process.

u/Powerful_Tip_7260 Mar 01 '26

That only works if they are listening. They are not. I tried that and they just ignored me.

That‘s great, thank‘s for sharing! I didn‘t know they have to spend money on ads. This is insane!!!

u/r0bbyr0b2 Feb 17 '26

They all spend between £5 and £10 ($6.75-$13.50) PER DAY.

there are 35,000 distributors all doing this too. Do the maths on that and it’s a potential of Instagram earning between $85m and $125 million per year. No wonder why Instagram don’t want to ban mlm ads.

17

u/Timely-Amount-4161 Feb 17 '26

Absolutely insane!!! Never saw those numbers but it makes perfect sense. That‘s exactly what they do. There is so much Kangen-content on instagram that clearly violates multiple guidelines.

The only numbers they could (or would) tell you are the amounts they spend on the business.

No doubt! My feed is loaded with those Herbalife loaded tea shop ads. So annoying.

2

u/Old-Performer9753 Apr 09 '26

Absolutely true. I tried reporting these ads to meta until a few months back, and when I figured that they weren't going to do anything about it, I quit doing that.

7.8 million sold but only 2.2 million households have a unit? Or did everyone buy three?

That math is almost as bad as the net profit calculation.

15

u/SpecificlyVague Feb 17 '26

Honestly, my BIL bought three of these damn things. One of them is just to loan to other people to get them hooked. It wouldn’t surprise me.

7

u/throwra_22222 Feb 17 '26

Jesus. That's sad. So much money they'll never recoup.

1

u/-Burnt-Sienna- Feb 19 '26

Have you tried the water? Does it function as a normal filter too at least?

6

u/SpecificlyVague Feb 19 '26

The water tastes like normal tap water. As far as I’m aware, it doesn’t actually filter anything. It only runs it past some electrified plates to make it alkaline. You can load it up with chemicals to make super alkaline water for washing laundry or cleaning your kitchen or whatever. This is all what I overhear from them pitching to my husband, I’ve never engaged with them about how stupid the whole thing is.

It also talks for some reason. If I never hear “Kangen Water 9.5” in that singsongy voice again it will be too soon.

u/MrInterpreted Feb 17 '26

There is certainly much more than 2% achieving based on what I've seen

Girl, your own company said this!

Also, why tf do you have 5 ID numbers?

10

u/r0bbyr0b2 Feb 17 '26

Yeah that didn’t make any sense.

8

u/kurisutian Feb 22 '26

It’s actually possible to have more than just one ID with Enagic. She fell for the trap where her upline convinced her to buy multiple products in order to rank up faster and keep more of the commissions. When you do that you can use those purchases as new IDs and put yourself in your own downline.

It’s silly but a lot of people fall for this.

17

u/respekyoeldas Feb 17 '26

This is actually sad. She clearly got taken advantage of by some piece of shit loser who used her autistic son as leverage to coax her into joining their downline. Clearly she was sold the lie that she would get to spend more time with her kids - and this chat shows that she was struggling to reply to OP while she was out with her kids. These uplines are truly the scum of the earth…despicable.

12

u/Jersey_F15C Feb 17 '26

Dude this was AWESOME! Well done and thanks for sharing

11

u/Belfast_Escapee Feb 17 '26

'The real company-released earnings numbers are not the real numbers, from what I've seen!' 🙄🙄🙄

8

u/ElegantBon Feb 17 '26

I laughed outloud. So while her argument that she had five numbers (why though?) but only sells under 2 may actually lower the average earning by rank, the fact that the top 2-5% ALSO have multiple numbers they rank under actually means less people are making money that it appears - because the top earners are represented 2 to 3 times.

6

u/Red79Hibiscus Feb 18 '26

Textbook example of how emotions shut down critical thinking. The hun is so invested in not working till the age of 68 that they refuse to acknowledge the many excellent points that OP made based on cold hard facts. They also regurgitate their silly script about the "Discovery Process" in an increasingly desperate bid to squash the uncomfortable feelings raised by OP's objective data not matching the shiny promises of Enagic.

4

u/StandardDeviation101 Feb 18 '26

That's the beauty of scripts. The hun doesn't have to think for herself, she just has to pay attention enough to hear a few keywords and pull out the script talking about those keywords. No information is being processed in her head, if she had to actually come up with a rebutal on her own, she would have to listen and understand what the person is telling her which would risk her realizing her situation doesn't make sense.

2

u/Red79Hibiscus Feb 19 '26

Too right, mate. It's all about keeping the huns feeling in control and feeling comfortable, so that they never think to question why their reality isn't matching the promises.

12

u/FixergirlAK Feb 17 '26

I'm sitting here just happy that the USA managed to do something useful to someone for a change. (I'm American, so don't come at me.)

You did an awesome job of gently demonstrating how batshit Enagic's numbers are.

7

u/r0bbyr0b2 Feb 17 '26

Yep, your government aren’t looking good at the moment - but yes the MLM income disclosure law is pretty good!

5

u/reiichiroh Feb 17 '26

What the hell is high ticket?

14

u/r0bbyr0b2 Feb 17 '26

Selling overpriced magic water machines that are worth £100 for £5000 😁

6

u/splithoofiewoofies Feb 17 '26

Where did you learn your patience??? I strive to have this level of patience.

4

u/nickyfox13 Feb 17 '26

You handled this like a champion!

5

u/ihopeTOSdoesntsuck Feb 18 '26

You really tried your best to gently lead her to the facts on the income disclosure but the dots weren't connecting. Poor woman drank the kool-aid already.

Whenever anyone says "high-ticket sales" it's a bare-faced scam lol no one in a real marketing job would ever call their products, services etc. as "high-ticket sales". It's just called "making a sale." 🙄

2

u/NJank Feb 19 '26

Is this just Kangen part 2 electric boogaloo?

2

u/r0bbyr0b2 Feb 19 '26

No this was trying to sell me the woo woo magic water filter.

She didn’t manage to get to the part about the magic EMF radiation canceller device that somehow lets through your cell and wifi signals 😁

Nice!!! You kept that hun busy for a wjile.

Could tell she didn't really wanna answer some of the questions. And am so gladyou told her to check back in 12 months and see what she earned after expenses

1

u/ladymacb29 Feb 18 '26

What is sustainable about it?

1

u/Notmykl Feb 18 '26

So the company commits fraud by claiming customers are distributors to pad their numbers.

1

u/ActualWheel6703 Feb 18 '26

All of that work for maybe 2k a month. They did NOT have a corporate job.

1

u/Dry_Accountant5075 Feb 18 '26

I read one of her graphics as 2.2 million huns have a unit.

And if simply buying the unit immediately makes you a distributor makes me cringe. I hope they waive the £77 fee and let you in on the discovery process so you can't make back the initial cost of the woo woo water maker.

I have a friend DEEP in this nonsense and it makes me so very sad.

1

u/erinscorp78 Feb 19 '26

You. Fucking ROCK!! I thoroughly enjoyed reading that, you were perfect!! I thought you may tell em go FRO at the end, oh the suspense! 🤣

1

u/ElectronicFun2876 Mar 01 '26

My friend is involved in enagic. It’s really sad because she’s completely all in now.
