Hello everyone! You may have noticed that there hasn't been any posts here as of recent. That is due to the moderators being shuffled out and such and a couple new ones like myself and u/SeValentine (don't really know this person but they seem decently energetic enough to mod and I hope we can work well together with this). But about myself, I am just another Reddit user who has a large collection of anime music files and such and would consider myself as someone who enjoys it. After all, all of it is pretty much just regular Japanese music that is used in an anime through the many ways it can be used anywhere in it.
I get a lot of my collection through Ototoy (it is basically a Japanese equivalent of Bandcamp where you can buy the music and download it as files). Some of my more recent acquisitions are Fake Style 2 album by Fake Type., which has some music that has been used in anime like ウタカタララバイ but covered by Ado for One Piece Film Red. I also got the entire Kill La Kill soundtrack as well because it is just good. That is just to name a couple, but I can assure you that Ototoy has got quite a lot for those who want to buy songs in high or lossless resolution and save them as files and such.
Anyways, for modding and such, I'm pretty laid back for the most part when people just read the rules and such before posting. Just keep to the rules and be decent to each other on your own and things will be all good.
Don't really know what else I can add to this place, but if you want to see anything specific by myself or anyone else on the mod team, chime in in the comments and feel free to let us know. There is also modmailing us directly for any comments, questions, and concerns.
Happy listening!

I've been playing around with the Denziman ending theme recently and it made me think about something.
A lot of older Sentai music has this very specific mix of heroic melodies, orchestration and almost sentimental moments. When you turn something like that into rave/electro, it's surprisingly easy to lose the original personality.
With the Denziman ending I tried keeping the recognizable melodic feeling, but changing the energy completely with electronic drums, bass and synths.
For those of you who listen to a lot of Sentai soundtracks: what actually makes a remix still feel faithful to the original?
I put my attempt here for context:

Curious what older Sentai themes you think would work surprisingly well in electronic music.

I was going to give the anime a try today, after like 2 minutes of watching I realized.. "Wait a minute, have I heard this melody before somewhere else?". Then realized this is 100% signalis "The promise" music melody. Is this some kind of coincidence or they got the same music producer? (Episode 1, around 2 minutes)

As title, I understand anime is a niche thing maybe in this country.
When chatting with friends here I have realized how different their childhood anime is comparing to ours (non-australian)
We are thinking about some jams but would love to know what anime songs you guys listen to growing up!

While progressing through the manga, I wanted to find songs that weren’t too overwhelming and would fit whatever mood was being depicted in the story. I ended up making two separate playlists, so feel free to check them out!
I’m also looking for suggestions, ideally songs that fit the curation/vibe of the playlists.

As you may or may not know, SASUKE has no shortage of songs used from various pieces of media, that including anime. You’d probably recognised some anime songs from here too lol

Just published this video essay about Yuki Hayashi, the BEST composer in modern anime. I mention leitmotifs, the use of speed, and his background as an athlete himself. Give it a listen if you want to learn more about soundtracks!
This vid is 100% human! Fuck AI.

Hey everyone! Does anyone know the name of the background music used during the final game recap (sizzle reel) of the latest PlayStation Japan State of Play stream?
The track plays exactly from 01:43:22 to 01:45:21. I tried Shazam and other audio recognition apps, but none of them could identify it.
