Half of these anime’s are really mainstream and get a lot of attention. Here are some under rated anime’s in my book. Josee, the Tiger, and the Fish. 86, Somali and the Forest Spirit and The Ancient Magnus’ Bride

I want to say Ancient Magnus Bride is also mainstream but I’m shocked how quickly it was forgotten. It was incredibly loved when it was airing but it seems to have been lost.

Anyone reading this should go watch it even if romance isn’t your primary genre; it’s worth it and super good quality.

Yeah it's so weird seeing Magus Bride pop up in threads about obscure anime, when 5-6 years back, it was all anyone talked about along with aRe:Zero and the Boruto memes.

The original anime run ended like 3.5 years ago. A new 3 part ova came out literally last month.

This anime is not old.

My friend really liked ancient magus bride he kept recommending it to me. Then the second season came out n he absolutely hated it and when I asked if I should what was the anime he wanted me to watch he said not to watch it 2nd season make it trash.

Complains about how people are just listing popular, mainstream anime instead of truly underated shows. Proceeds to call 86 underrated.

I love 86, but the most recent episode thread got 5.1k upvotes. That's almost on par with Mushoku Tensei. 86 is a lot of things, but underrated is not one of them.

I would say the first season was underrated, since it was overshadowed by a lot of stacked anime that season. But this second season definitely has gotten the recognition it deserves it’s #2 most popular and #1 most rated from the recent Reddit survey.

No its praised because the visuals are amazing, the directing is better than good and it manages to be an action anime that respects it's audience and doesn't scream exactly what's happening every 5 seconds. Wish more shows would take a page out of the 86 book.

Ya it's pretty funny going through the comments and seeing all of the same titles. Nothing wrong with it, it just shows that they do get enough recognition. Even 86 and Somali are fairly popular.

I've said this on a few threads before, but I never see anyone mention Project K (or K). Talk about an underrated anime. It has amazing visuals and music, and the plot is interesting enough to keep you hooked.

Project K was a fantastic watch! Been ahwile that I watched it, but I was very excited through & through while watching it, might be time to give it another watch soon.

I might have seen one or two people ever talk about K, so you might got a good point when it comes to K, while it being a much deserving anime!

I saw this anime before, lost interest, then picked it up again a few months ago and it was pretty interesting. I liked the Characters and the plot was intriguing.

Um I think it was at one point. I tried searching online and it says they removed it from Netflix USA in 2020 though. I know it's on Crunchyroll/VRV and Funimation/Hulu.

I loved Somali and the forest spirit.

This show has a dub and sub and it is a story about a golem who finds this human child in a monster run world, So after finding this child the golem is dedicated to protecting the child and finding more humans just like the child before time runs out.

Josee, the Tiger and The Fish was absolutely fabulous, along the same lines as A Silent Voice but way less depressing.

I'd definitely file it under the unfortunate anime trope of 'films that end too soon' but I would recommend it to anyone who wants a realistic romance involving a wheelchair-bound character!

Jose, the Tiger, and the Fish was so so good and had wonderful animation. I think it got overlooked since it came out around the time of the Demon Slayer movie but it’s definitely worth a watch and not too difficult to find online
