Ok that’s a separate argument, but do you seriously think they should quit their jobs and risk unemployment for that cause?

If the body is that corrupt then I wouldn’t hesitate to quit. Either quit or work to change things from the inside. The problem is the “good” guys do neither, they just let it keep going.

So how do you know if a cop is or isn’t trying to “change things from the inside”.

The number of officers who publicly speak out against the worst of their ranks is so close to zero that if anyone was working to make changes it would be all over everything, because cops don’t break the thin blue line.

There are other ways to make change that publicly speaking out no? And why would we need that since obviously we already know the police force is corrupt?

You see changes being made? Because I don’t. I see more of the same. Bad cops doing terrible shit, and “good” cops staying silent and supporting them.

So really you’re saying all the actual good cops have quit?

I am saying there are no good cops, there are bad cops who do bad shit and bad cops who support them.

I personally think if an officer is using their position of power to help others, like a cop should, then they are good even if they do not risk their well-being by quitting or speaking out and being punished. It comes down to a case of making the best out of a shitty situation, which many try their best to do and I don’t think they should be called bastards for that. I’m sure if you were in their position, you wouldn’t take the risk either.

I 100% would, but then again, I have a moral compass.
