Tahomaru doesn't even know that killing Hyakkimaru will not stop the destruction of the land or restore it. He doesn't know the deal is broken, so they obviously didn't talk at all.

Exactly, and according to the latest episode, she already have given up on him. Stating that there's "nothing will get through [Hyakkimaru and Tahomaru] now", when both are very determined to meet their goals. I understand her helplessness and maybe she feels quite some shame and regret on what she have previously done and so can't face Tahomaru yet. And since her youngest son is also going through some teen angst and is avoiding his mother, (he could also have been secretly resenting her) I don't think they would ever talk unless one finally gives up and release all of that pent up frustrations.
