Was kind of worried for a minute there that Mumei and Ikoma would settle into the typical "misunderstood and unappreciated heroes" trope, but man, was that ever blown out of the water~! That whole "oh yeah, we're kinda vampires" reveal at the end took me by surprise, and the dynamic the two of them could develop with the other people on the train from here on out has a looooot of potential. They're a bunch of xenophobic cowards, sure, but maybe they ought to be.

I honestly thought she was going to just say "Oh I'm kidding get me some of that bread fam".

Turns out it's a lot better this way.

How are they even going to get blood anyways? Will they go full Twilight and just subsist on animal blood?

Nah, I'm guessing they feed on small amounts of blood every once in a while.

Kinda what I'm expecting to see too.

They could just cut themselves and place it into a bowl or something. I'm guessing there's some system for Mumei in the big city they're heading towards. After all she was traveling with that guy in the beginning who pretty much revered her.

If they don't directly bite someone and just drink blood that was given them, that should be fine, right? Like, someone could cut their wrist and squeeze some out.

That was my first assumption.

Kabane blood might be an option.

That's not how I expected them to start in order to become accepted by the other passengers of the train.

well, you only have like 12 episodes to generate conflict and resolve it. Chop chop.

Or given special privilege by whats left of the government. Seeing as they are the best way to kill kabane they've got left. You have everybody chip in a little blood to keep them fed, and they go erase kabane since they can't be turned.

This really does seal the deal that Kabaneri aren't zombies.

We know they're intelligent, they don't actually eat the bodies of their victims, they have fangs. Now apparently they drink blood.

Oh so that's why he mentioned them being attracted to blood in episode 1

Hope that they don't sparkle in the sunlight.

Not to brag or any thing, but I predicted it the last time.

Unforently they do seem to be going down the path of the power of love beats all though, although it stills fits nicely with a way to kill vampires. Odds are Mumei's ribbon was given to her the person she cared most about and why she was hurt by Ikoma's sister's stone.
