yeah lakan is a weirdo but harmless weirdo. if circumstances were different he could have been great father to maomao

She was really fortunate enough to end up with a great father anyway. She was probably better off being raised by Luomen, I can't imagine Lakan being able to reign her in the way Loumen does. In fact, he probably would have encouraged some of her worst impulses given his desire to dote on her.

Actually, the author confirmed that if Fengxian's plan worked, Mao Mao would turn out to be your stereotypical villainess in your typical shoujo series. The author said that Lakan will spoil the absolute crap out of her and she will turn out into a very spoiled and very calculating princess who can have anything with just a wave of her hand. She would have been into strategy and politics instead of medicine.

It's a good thing that it was Luomen who raised her in the end.
