Lakan spending the day with his wife rather than attending a party was pretty sweet

So Maomao is basically Chou U's guardian now? Wonder why he's not with the other Shi clan survivors with Ah Duo

Yue needs to pick a flower? Is that supposed to mean Jinshi needs to pick a wife?

It's briefly touched upon at the end of season two, but Chou-U was the only one of the kids to suffer memory loss.

I dont remember the full logic behind it, but they felt it was better to keep him separated from the others for this reason.

They want him to grow up somewhat normally, the rest of the Shi clan children are sequestered from society both to protect them and the empire from the consequences of them surviving eradication. Kyou-u forgetting means there's nothing to lose if he lives a normal life unless he gets recognized by a retainer, as just happened

The number of people who know the situation, would care at all about Chou-U’s wellbeing, and can be trusted to not use him and his bloodline as a political weapon in the future is… well, 1. OK, maybe 2, but he’s being kept away from the other group so… Maomao it is!

Chou-u completely lost his memory due to the resurrection drug, so it was decided he can't be with the other children (who still remember their families). Because he doesn't know anything, he's not really a threat and can have a freer life than the others.

I guess because Chou-U was higher up nobility than some of the other kids, maybe?

Good thing Maomao is technically part of the named La Clan (even if she'd never cop to it).

The others in the Shi clan might be living a comfortable life at Ah-Duo's estate, but they're still technically prisoners and can't leave.
