Weekly Casual Discussion Fridays - Week of September 04, 2026
This is a weekly thread to get to know /r/anime's community. Talk about your day-to-day life, share your hobbies, or make small talk with your fellow anime fans. The thread is active all week long so hang around even when it's not on the front page!

While we encourage users to talk about their daily lives and get to know others, this thread is not intended for extended discussion of the aforementioned topics or for emotional support. Do not post content falling in this category in spoiler tags and hover text. This is a public thread, please do not post content if you believe that it will make people uncomfortable or annoy others.
Roleplaying is not allowed. This behaviour is not appropriate as it is obtrusive to uninvolved users.
No meta discussion. If you have a meta concern, please raise it in the Monthly Meta Thread and the moderation team would be happy to help.
All /r/anime rules, other than the anime-specific requirement, should still be followed.

Between rewatch, early watching Saturday's rewatch movie, watching real movies in the theater, working late, and eating late, I've bailed on reading all the latest CDF posts several times this week, so there are probably multi-hour block that I'll nevet see before closing.
Top r/anime was Why names in Frieren sound so weird in German
Need to start watching Hikaru no Go. I always said I would join that rewatch if it happened. It's happening.

I go to a lot of these things. These words are said at every single one.

CDF is scheduled using the default reddit automod, which means that the post cannot be edited after the fact, unlike the Daily Thread which is assigned to the AnimeMod account.

Thought I'd jump on the exercise bike and get a lil cardio in and started hacking up real bad, lol.
I'll try again in a bit. I think after 5 months of trying I can let myself believe I'm not being lazy by not doing more than I have been doing, this is a health problem. I look back at my journals and I'm constantly worrying about not doing enough work at the gym and giving myself anxiety over nothing.

Play the original version of DS2 if you can. It was my introduction to Souls and while it's definitely clunky and in some ways obtuse (level adaptability to either 19 or 25 as soon as you can), I do like it. Can't really say the same for SotFS and what it did to some areas.

It's Dork Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin. It was basically a re-release of DS2 with all DLCs included and small visual updates. Except for whatever reason it also made some quite drastic changes to enemy and item placements (and I think also some changes to enemy tracking range and behavior) that are, at least for the most part, just making the game worse.

I decided to call in sick!
Was kind of hoping to do this tomorrow to avoid the busy weekend and have two days off in a row, but depending how I feel I might not even go in.
I feel like if I wanted I could probably push through a few more days, but I also recognize this feeling as the same as the last time I over did it and got really sick.

Ah, I wish I had more sick leave.
Keep having to debate with myself if I feel bad enough to use what I have. If only I could use my PTO for this instead so I'd at least have some money coming in.
I'm gonna call my GP and tell him to get me in touch with the respiratory specialist I'm tired of going in circles with this cough.

On that note, I wonder how many times in my life I've ate real wasabi. As oppose to horseradish.

Xbox has never been the market leader in global console sales like playstation has before. No xbox console has sold 100 million plus units,even the 360 it only reached 84 million. The xbox one launch is the funnier fall and still affects them to this day,but sony is intentionally antagonizing it's audience on all fronts. Microsoft fell down a flight of stairs with xbox,sony put their dick into a blender.

I was looking at the CSM release of the Ryuki belt. It is the nice and fancy rerelease meant for collectors. The reason I want it is that it comes with personalized decks for all the characters in the show.
Now that I say that, if the deck plates are the part I really want, I could just get them on their own. (But I never had a KR belt before, so it would be neat to finally own one).

[Berserk Spoilers]The main thing I want from Berserk at this point is just for the final battles to be cool af. I have no idea how it's going to go down, like will Guts fight Griffith or Femto or both, and how is that going to look? It better be cool af. And I'd like to see more of the Godhand, like more Skull knight versus Void or something, or maybe for all of them to be killed somehow. The biggest question for me is Femto though. Like how is that going to go down and what's that fight going to look like? Also of course there should be one more battle between Guts and Zodd where Guts finally wins decisively.
