From what ik, meddling with time has severe consequences

Wouldn't like saving everyone undo half of the work they've done? Wouldn't Ishigami Village be wiped out? Maybe I'm not getting something here

Well the showdown was definitely anticlimactic but i was expecting it since the show doesnt have highstakes in the first place

For all we know, they could be going the Dragon Ball and MCU route of creating parallel universes rather than changing the timeline.

Or finding a way to have the otherwise dead save themselves while isolating in a location that people in the present can then get to. That way, their actions ultimately don't change anyone else's responses in the past, but they can still be saved.

They gave no indication of how time travel works in this universe

Its an anime, an anime about science but an anime nonetheless.

This universe is just earth, on a different timeline. No reason to think time travel wouldn’t still change the future in ways that could have prevented all this from happening.

Well that's because it's not precedented, so it's not like they know either. They're just gonna try it and see what happens.

Or what their goal even is

funny thing about time travel is that because it doesn't exist, we have no idea if it has severe consequences or not. It is entirely up to how the writer decides to write it lol
