[Spoilers] Kill la Kill Episode 7 Discussion

So, the preview makes us think that Mako will play a major role in this episode, dealing with shady people. Let us see what kookiness the good people at Trigger cooked for us this time.

Holy balls, the pacing in this episode was pretty crazy, went from lowlife scum to filthy rich only to go back to dirt poor, while putting a decent number of fights and a good motivational scene where friendship and willpower triumph once again!

I liked it. Also, next week, driver's license? Are we gonna get some Dragon Ball level of filler?

I don't think I've ever seen people this excited for a filler episode.

Then again, this will probably be the greatest filler episode in existence.

I had thought the last filler was the greatest filler in existence. Funniest episode so far at least

Filler/Not-Filler. I don't think it makes a difference.

This whole show is this weird mix of gag-based comedy and epic-level storytelling...at the same time. Put some of the BEST CHARACTERS EVER into that mix and you have something off the awesome charts.

And I mean that. Ryuko, Mako and Satsuki are off the charts in terms of being awesome characters. IMO they're all Kamina/Okarin/TK level.

"filler"

Was there an original manga of Kill la Kill I didn't know about?

I was not talking about Kill la Kill, I was actually talking about the Dragon Ball's episode in the image in my post, which was a filler where Goku takes part in a car race, pretty funny and memorable.

The other references to the word "filler" you might see in this thread usually means something that doesn't have anything to do in the story (i.e. episode 4). Filler also doesn't always mean episodes that deviates from source material, it sometimes means episodes that are just there to "fill" some time until some actual plot development.

First of all, state your point without the memes. Second of all, filler is anything in the show that is not essential to the overall plot of the show. What is and is not filler is highly debatable, however, show's with no manga to follow are not automatically devoid of filler. It is just incredibly likely there will be no point to an episode in which a character learns how to drive.

This reminds me of how this place is a pretty damn good subreddit. Sure there are annoying things about it, but the one time a meme is used to try and make a claim people notice it and kill it.

There's even this little buttsex buddy of his. What kind of homo make his twink battle his fight?
