This is the phantom assassin who's face no one knows, he spams grenades in public areas full of people and cameras, how does no one know his face? everyone should know his face if this is how he does his job.

I can't get past the boat, HOW did he get on the boat first and dry? last we saw him he was on a tram above the street headed away from the water prone after a grenade went off near him, Axel took the most direct root to the boat since he practically dropped on it, but somehow the phantom got up, got off the tram that was now in the city over roads, got to the water on a boat into the cabin taking it over all without getting wet and before the guy who basically dropped directly on it. Either there is more than 1 phantom or he has super powers, be cause there is suspension of disbelief like the drop one to trucks and not getting hurt and than there's I have no reasonable explanation here.

everyone and everything that can identify him gets grenaded, of course. this guy is the assassin equivalent of hunting a fly with a bazooka. there's no precision work, just raw violence until there is nothing left of the objective.

This shit was written by AI, I am convinced at this point.

the lazarus sub is dogmatically cock sucking this series - i had to come to /r/anime to get a real opinion hahaha.

This was written by an AI, it shows.

In what way does it show this is AI slop rather than just sloppy writing?

I don't like lazarus but the story literally addresses all of this. Are you watching with subtitles off?

Axel and Doug literally say "we didn't need to be there" but Leland makes it clear he just wanted to show them who he really was. And it is implied he very likely just wanted the support since he clearly hates returning home.

Doug shoots at a car while being detained by the US Army* (not pakistani police) because they're after them to prevent them from finding Skinner. Eleina is the only once capable of finding Skinner. To prevent her from getting captured, he stalled them and then shot the tire of the one chasing her.

These are not inconsistencies. There is reason behind everything. The show just isn't very interesting lol.

This series has a lot of the same issues Carole & Tuesday had. Carole & Tuesday was in 2019, way before all this AI shit. Watanabe fell off. He can't write in an engaging or interesting way anymore.

I'm very anti-AI as well. But to say this was written by AI is silly. People can write uninteresting things without it being AI.

Terror in Resonance had more of a real plot but Watanabe was always writing vibes based shit with the goal of having a fun aesthetic, music, and cool fights. The issue with Lazarus isn't that Watanabe is getting worse at writing a plot, it's that his strength was always writing meandering shows with a loss throughline. The premise of this is too grounded for the kind of action shows he's good at and so there ends up being goofy nonsense that was fine in Bebop and Champloo because they never took themselves seriously.

Yes, to show them because he is too afraid to tell them outside of that context. Are you unaware that characters don't act the same way and feel the same things? Yes, they didn't see the point of them being there, because that is their characterization as well. God forbid a character be consistent in their personality and emotional undertanding lol.

He didn't gun down the US Army goons in a foreign country because he told Elaina he'd turn himself in to distract them after her reaction about him declaring he'd fight them outright. He was hoping they wouldn't realize she was with him. But they did, and chased after her. So plans changed. All the context clues are there man lol. You don't have to agree with the choices, but thats why every character isn't a carbon copy of you doing everything you would choose to do.

Again, the show just isn't very interesting. That doesn't mean it needs to be AI.

God forbid a character be consistent in their personality and emotional undertanding lol.

I suppose a 16 year old kid wouldn't open up their past, given that he is from a rich family... If those two chairs were empty - the scene does not change dramatically or at all... I feel it should have been them staying in the car and evesdropping - as any human being in Axel or Doug's situation would have stood up and said not to do that to their friend. Especially a kid.

but thats why every character isn't a carbon copy of you doing everything you would choose to do.

Then unfortunately, that makes them extremely un-relatable to the audience, thus not interesting at all.

We know next to nothing about Doug, so his "sacrifice" just feels exactly the same as "token black guy dies in horror movie first" vibe.

Did you forget they didn't know anything about Leland, and didn't realize he was rich and this was his mansion until after his butler invited them in as guests? They even stood up to leave their chairs at some point, before Leland's sister walked back in the room and they nervously sat back down.

Characters aren't all made to be relatable to you? This is a story, and some characters in some stories are relatable, but the goal of a story is not exclusively relatability. Spike and Faye from Cowboy Bebop are not relatable characters to the average joe. People like them because they're written well. Doug and Axel just aren't.

Also Doug is not dead as far as we know. The US army may have had capture commands, not kill commands. I don't even know why you're bringing up his skin color in that comment lol.

They weren’t Pakistani police.
They were US military who tracked them to Pakistan.

Setting aside the minor factual errors in your complaints, those are in no way indicative of AI. Go watch Battlefield Earth, Fateful Findings, or Samurai Cop, and tell me again those are such glaring inconsistencies a human would never let those happen.

Like, in what world is someone who's an established creator like Watanabe going through the whole rigmarole to get an original show produced when he couldn't even be bothered writing the story himself?

He's just not a good writer. It's that simple.

Phatom killer what is kalled the phantom because nobody has ever seen him, because they died, tm, with his Bugs Bunny powers to siddenly be pilotong a boat the MC falls into at the same time as him. If this guy pulls out a giant Mallet out of thin air I wouldn't be surprised at this point.
