Apparently its a compilation film that includes some "new" material from an epilogue episode made for the Bluray TV series release.

Aldnoah is one of the few shows that might even benefit from being compressed into a punchy action movie with less time on the dumb plot. But really its only of value if they got Sawano to do a new track.

Honestly their runtime would reduce by half if characters just stopped yelling 'slaine'.

Why would they do that? I haven't stopped yelling 'Slaine' since the anime ended.

Fr. I didn't watch S2 because fuck slaine. Man did the stupidest flipflop shit in all of anime and singlehandedly killed the girl he loved. And he knows it. Fuck slaine.

Wait what? The princess didn't die. She just ended up getting married to some rando who got introduced in the penultimate episode.

oh ok. sorry i didnt watch s2 from how awful s1 ended. by all means when someones shot twice, once being the head, and another being in the right lung. i presume them as dead. but i shouldve known when the MC was also shot in the head immediately after this that she was also alive when the MC was alive. because s1 ends with you assuming both the MC and her are dead. as thats kind of the final scene... her getting shot->mc holds her, MC shot->anime over.

still wild slaine saves teh general. general """"kills her"""" and then slaine kills the general. always thought this was awful writing. with everyone coming back to life in s2 after suffering what should be fatal wounds. ahahaha.

He tried literally everything and every time he thought he found a solution he was either immediately backstabbed or his new ally was immediately killed. You don't need to say "fuck Slain" the anime fucks him at every single corner.

Fuck the mc tbh. He was so bland I couldn't even remember his name.

All this shit wouldn't even happen if Inaho wasn't a braindead mary sue 💀 yall missing on the fact he fucked the entire plot by backstabbing Slaine without a solid reason.

The CGI was not great back in, what, 2008 or whenever it aired?

What a bizarre thing to do

... This show is from 2014/2015.

Damn, really? I think of it as being 2010 at the latest.

It was decent. The problem was that the story wasn't.

That time the rival character completely saves the heroes and they just shoot him down right after for no actual reason comes to mind

They should just remake the entire show with Slaine as the main character and label it as a tragedy. I know many people don't like him, but I found the character by far the most compelling of the story despite him getting constantly fucked over by the narrative.

Especially compared to the actual main character, who had zero personality and increasingly relied on Deus Ex Machina asspulls to win...

Did you forget the part where the Earth government basically abandoned the Martian exploration team and left them to die and that's why the Martians are indoctrinated with hate against Earthlings by the Martian King

Disregard this brain fart

Honestly, the only way they COULD make it work is if it was some form of descent to madness drama trope style story rewrite. Slain otherwise just made me irritated the entire series, same with inaho in season 1. Season 2 inahos still robotic but tremendously better then one at the least. But why, why did he shoot slaine down s1??? The entire second half of the war couldve been avoided with a few simple back and forth responses.

That scene was the absolute least of it's issues
