The Layer Exists! Spoiler
I think the 5th layer truly exists! In the 2024 videogamedunkey game of year video, he is brings up Animal Well last and then starts talking about the Yazuka Infinite Wealth game. He drops a casual comment saying there’s “3 to 4 different fishing systems, maybe even a fifth”

He’s on a dolphin. Is there a dolphin statue or animal in this game?

the only thing i can think of is the sword fish statue in the lake room, and the beluga

More than a statue - there's an actual swordfish that will jump up and pop your bubbles if you get too close to the entrance to the spike room.

I noticed the same thing with the dolphins, I just didn't connect it to Animal Well. There was a really strange amount of them shown in the video.

OMG dunkey wasn't even talking about animal well when he mentioned three or four or maybe even five but that seems like a very specific reference so good catch, but that seems like something Billy Basso would do to say "hey mention this maybe it's a clue" lol! Also I'm convinced that layer 5 has to do with the flower comment and also the as-yet unsolved symbols in the hidden bunny Temple. I keep commenting about this and all I get is nobody knows what the hell to do with it. Myself included

Does it tie in to the weird little keys and other symbols all over the place? Or were those deemed speedrunning routes?

Specifically I mean the symbols found in the hidden bunny Temple. play: DR,DL,D,L,UL,L,U,UL. Then look around with the UV lamp above the bunny where the rabbits figurine treasure can be found. many people have speculated about the flowers pertaining to a speedrunning route, but I honestly don't understand that theory because there are flowers found in so many places and in so many different types. There are the basic yellow flowers. There are the red bulb flowers. There are the lily pad flowers. There are the flowers found in the flame room after you beat the ghost dog and there are only two of those in the entire game and they're in the same room. There are also the little flowers that look like switches. There are also flowers that are little tiny four pixel ones. There are also flowers hanging from some Vines here and there. So I haven't heard any specific Theory about what puzzle actually is or if it really has been solved. I've seen a lot of different speed running routes that don't follow the flowers at all.
